  1. I'm thinking Zeuch is an opener, 2 innings max. Matz following.
  2. Lindor isn't really the type of player that ages well, a lot of his value relates to speed and defensive range. Alomar is a reasonable comp for Lindor, and Alomar faded after his age 33 season. 12 years to age 39 and $385M is a helluva risk and a very Mets thing to do. Lindor is crazy not to take it immediately.
  3. Didn't see it posted but Springer to IL, eligible to return April 8.
  4. Ohtani has a blister. Alarmists can calm down.
  5. I need to move 1 of Yandy Diaz or JD Davis. Prospect or pick upgrade.
  6. That contract will be an albatross within 5 years.
  7. MLB players have enough trouble laying down a bunt. Whatever would make one think they can aim grounders to the gaps?
  8. Have #1 waiver priority in redraft points league. Use it on Andrew Vaughn at start of season, or Kelenic 2-3 weeks in?
  9. Take nothing from it, just as you should take nothing from the spring training performance of any MLB veteran. Look at their performance history over several years in MLB, instead.
  10. Theorizing here, but I think technology today means a greater chance of success with raw prospects with projectable power and tools. If the theory holds, I'd lean more to a prep prospect then a college guy falling down the draft order.
  11. Hopefully they've learned something from the JD and Ken Giles episodes. Yes, injury severity and rehabilitation times are somewhat subjective, but Springer playing the opening series just seems unnecessarily risky, like how the aforementioned were handled.
  12. Less than a week, mates. Wishing you all good team health, except for when you play me.
  13. A few months at least, obliques are tricky. FO is crazy to think of Springer playing in the first series. There's minimal reward, extreme risk.
  14. The last tab of the draft window was "Rankings", based on projected stats.
  15. I suspect we see both Manoah and SWR up at some point. Will be a wonky season, with pitch restrictions, more injuries than usual, pop up guys all over the place. A lot of pitching debuts that wouldn't normally happen.
  16. I'll offer up a 6th. I still can't believe Kelenic was there in the 3rd last round.
  17. Apparently Q? is the best team on paper.
  18. Vladdy just looks quicker in everything he does, including swinging the bat. He's not getting beat by heat so far.
  19. J-Rod OPS now 1.058 He's going to destroy the upper minors
  20. Looks like the regular lineup with Springer out I wonder with Springer out if McGuire is the 26th man and Kirk in the lineup most games as DH or C?
  21. ok i'll just wing it then
  22. Is this one of those rapid fire drafts, or 12 hr pick window drafts?
  23. "The biggest adjustment for Vaughn will be learning to handle being a primary DH. He’s a solid defensive first baseman, but first base belongs to reigning MVP Jose Abreu. The hope is for Vaughn to play in the field around two days a week, and he has also worked out this spring in the outfield and at third base." He can play the field, but is blocked by other Chisox.
  24. According to Nightengale's sports gut.
  25. Who knew 42 extra lbs could have such an impact on a professional athlete.
