  1. Williams: Age 22 - 221 wRC+ Age 23 - 209 wRC+ Age 24 - WWII Age 25 - WWII Age 26 - WWII Age 27 - 215 wRC+ Age 28 - 207 wRC+ Age 33 - 12 PA (Korean War) Age 34 - 110 PA (Korean War) Without the war interruptions, he would be #1 in career WAR.
  2. You said Grichuk is better than Ruth, which is absurd. FYI, Ruth was a phenomenal athlete. Best hitter all time atm is between Ruth, Williams, and Bonds.
  3. Seems about right.
  4. Expos in the strike shortened season. Damn, that was a good team.
  5. Nats lineup, often no reason to be anywhere near the zone with Soto at the plate
  6. Rivera has an extensive history of f*** ups. I miss Butterfield
  7. Jays have one of the best young cores in the league. That alone should keep the team good for the next several years, and as long as Shatkins keeps the prospect pipeline primed and player development investments, it will continue. There will be other years where the Jays luck into a couple of FA that deliver a huge return and have a Manoah type come up mid season. In other words, I don't think 2021 is a one off.
  8. You got it. Highly rated pitching prospects go down in flames all the time. We might never see Forrest Whitley in MLB. Bieber was an unknown a few short years ago. So no one should particularly care that the Jays have few "known" pitching prospects. Pitching prospect rankings and actual outcomes are poorly correlated.
  9. BTS, you know what to do.
  10. "reliable reliever" is an oxymoron, except for freaks like Hader and a few others
  11. TINSTAAPP Having said that, the Jays have done a good job filling the system with lower prospect tiered interesting arms. Good pitchers come out of "nowhere" all the time. Pitchers can be molded and pitches can be designed. A lot different kettle of fish than hitters.
  12. To be clear, there is no conspiracy. No evidence of that whatsoever. Anyone that thinks there is, is a dumb freedumb crackpot. The fact of the matter is, the umpires have subconscious bias against that foreign team, the Blue Jays.
  13. Hindsight is 20/20, they had no idea how the season would play out FO is working on a long window of contention vs. a short one. It's proper.
  14. Usually if a position prospect is elite defensively, the low risk label is assigned, or if a pitcher has a quality arsenal with good control/command, low risk is assigned. I wasn't aware of Volpe being ellite defensively, Peraza is better defensively within the Yanks org and is medium risk despite between 1 yr older and two levels higher. Low risk for Volpe is a ???
  15. You are mixing up principle with quantum.
