If the Jays want to max out the pitching investment, Josh Harrison would be a cheap and effective 1 year get while Moreno/Groshans continue to develop.
Harrison can play 3B, 2B, OF.
Biggio has a 4 WAR ceiling. 2019 he had 2.4 WAR in 100 games.
I'm writing off 2021 as a down year due primarily to injuries. He was on fire in June (155 wRC+) just before he got injured and tried to play through it.
One could do a lot worse than Biggio at 9 hole.
Need to see the final Jays at Arizona Fall League. Makes all the sense in the world for Moreno to be there, given the time he missed. Teams often test players out at a different position at the AFL.
Gotta pin some blame on Shatkins too. Bullpen was s***ing the bed for weeks and the reinforcements were slow to come. The f***ing Rays bolstered their bullpen weeks before Shatkins made a move.
Espinal full time at a specific position is not the ideal scenario. His value is max'ed off the bench playing all over the field as needed, pr, ph, defensive replacement, etc
Pillar's defense has declined to average, to go with below average offense. The very definition of replacement player. For some reason the Mets gave him a 2022 player option at $3.3M. 2022 will be his farewell tour.
Yanks against Jays or Bosox, the probability of winning essentially the same. I don't know how TV advertising rates are determined (and other game revenue), but suspect Yanks choosing Bosox would be for $ reasons.
Nonsense take. Look at run differentials of the Rays, Yanks, Bosox, and Jays, and re-evaluate.
I'll make it easier. 4 of the top 8 run differentials in MLB (30 teams) are in the AL East.
