  1. On the business side, the civil litigation will continue for a while, and no MLB wants ongoing negative publicity about one of its players. In Japan, the Bauer civil proceedings in the US would generate little media coverage.
  2. Damn, you just hate to see it. Except when it’s the Bankees
  3. Of the 4, it's still Painter for me, but if you are leery, a Tiedemann pivot is the right play.
  4. A pickoff move is more an attempt to reduce the runner's jump, IMO. And yes, more relevant in the days of Raines and Henderson. I wonder if we will see someone hit 50 SB this season.
  5. Who else moved from the field to the mound, sports a stache, and long hair?
  6. Those guys just need the equivalent of a MiLB rehab stint to get their timing and the like back. They are working everyday to get physically ready.
  7. Possibly. Hard to say what a 31 yr old Machado gets on the opeb market. Market was crazy this off season.
  8. Suppose we won't see much of Springer or Belt until last few weeks of ST Less chance of a sprinkler head encounter
  9. Future HOF'er Machado unless this deal turns him into a fat guy with no bat speed.
  10. I'd rather not be distracted by some countdown that will rarely if ever come into play when the season starts for real, when I am watching baseball.
  11. It's not clear. If Black is talking about pitchers only, there is logic to starting your better pitchers more on the road.
  12. Who will be this spring's Greg Bird?
  13. So is there medical evidence that would support more wear and tear on Rockies players because they play their home games at altitude? https://utswmed.org/medblog/high-altitude-training/#:~:text=As%20elite%20athletes%20acclimate%20to,when%20additional%20oxygen%20is%20available. So the answer is yes, unless the athlete trains at high altitute in which case its an overall benefit.
  14. i doubt it happens much, if at all, during the season
  15. Thought I already did this edit - i must have skipped a clik, i'm in now and ready for another year of watching connor scramble to repair dumb drafting
  16. The jump to AA is the 2nd hardest, after the jump to MLB. Orelvis had nothing left to prove in A ball. Guys that make the jump from A ball to AA and maintain or improve their outcome move up the list, guys that don't move down. Orelvis is still at the bottom of top 100 or just outside it, with big red flags attached.
  17. J-Rod, a Dominican, has been the hardest working player in MLB for a while now.
  18. I have a share. Acting in my own best interests.
  19. Best comp for Orelvis I have seen is Maikel Franco. Gonna stick with that until I see some better results.
  20. Is Big Sexy still pitching?
  21. Sorry for being a skeptic. Doesn't warrant your name calling.
