  1. I guess it comes down to the fact that the former rbi leaders, which proves how ignorant this guy is, all hit in the 3 or 4 hole and therefore, are the best hitters in the game. END OF DISCUSSION, THATS IT, THANK YOU, GOOD BYE!
  2. First, stop using the 4 hole as an example because no is arguing against that. And because someone did something 50 years ago its correct now, even after people in the industry spent a lot of time analyzing line up construction and ran the math and found out that the optimal lineup is with your best hitters hitting 1st, 2nd, 4th and 5th, we should listen to what people who havent actually spent time looking at the numbers?>
  3. Batting SECOND he would come up with TWO OUTS and no one on base a lot? Really..like really
  4. Mitch Wiliams is the best example of this. Former mlb closer and now has this delusional perception of what makes a good player. Because he did it and was praised by his fans throughout his career, he now honestly thinks a good closer is more valuable than the best pitcher in baseball
  5. Yea and the 3 hole batter also comes up the most with no one on and 2 outs, not a good position for your best hitter to hit in, is it? DERP
  6. As someone who plays sports on a fairly regular basis, I'm offended. We all play sports, the argument of that the people over at mlb.com know more than the rest of us because they put on a suit and are on tv is just getting so old.
  7. Why not just put the pitcher in the two hole and just bunt him over? Just moving the runner over from first to second again is stupid.
  8. It isnt us you idiot. Its professionals who analyze the game and have spent a lot more time than ex players and "experts from mlb.com" in determine what constitutes a good player and finding any advantage a team can. Because we arent dumb jocks and actually have an open mind we are someone inferior to your baseball knowledge right. The above 2 posters keep refuted your points, yet all you can comeback with is that they cant read properly.
  9. Lol no he doesnt, he prefers to talk out of his ass and use what a bunch of old guys tell him is right rather than use new data because its to complicated for him. This is a guy who uses a 30AB sample over what someone did the previous 2 seasons to determine tendencies
  10. He should just try to bunt up the first baseline again. Even if its foul its still a good attempt
  11. http://espn.go.com/mlb/player/hotzones/_/id/5904/edwin-encarnacion Look at his past 2 seasons, and shut up. Thanks.
  12. Edwin doesnt struggle on outside pitches, just not talking out of your ass, thanks
  13. Ortiz is a first class player and even better humam being from what I can tell. Good for Jose sticking up for him
  14. How f***ing hard is it to go out and not field a team with scrubs. Brendan Ryan would be cheap..but no.
  15. Okay I went back and listened again Its: (runs + rbi- homers)/ games played. Anything above .75 is good and above 1 is elite
  16. Something to do with dividing by games played. Either way it was beyond idiotic
  17. Lmao at zauns own formula..can someone shut this guy up
  18. lol no I actually love this line up. Good to see someone actually using advanced stats to help win ball games

Bit of both, just a reaction to get the blocker up even before he shot it
