OMF. What!? Sick, f***ing sick. One of the best threes I've seen.
  2. f***, this really, really blows. I'm going to try not to get hung up on the fact that my only encounter with him was of the negative variety, but I do feel bad because my only time really conversing with him was giving him a hard time on the old board for constantly nut-hugging the umps. In actuality, the guy was a solid poster and never really held a grudge. I've been reading his posts for years and years. Even though they were somewhat laughable at times, I always really appreciated the entertainment value of his "inside sources" posts as well as his amazing ability to pick who would get called up next from the minors. The board lost a good one, for sure. RIP Kirksaw.

Honestly, pretty much anyone is a huge upgrade over Nonis. Shanahan can't possibly be Nonis-bad, right? Right?
  4. I'll say 88, and they make a run at the playoffs, but ultimately miss out by a couple of games. It will make for a fun and interesting season, though.
  5. My list would be the same, except I'd flip McGuire and Wilson around.
  6. Imagine what this place would have been like when Darvish signed lol.
  7. Touché!
  8. But... you hate double negatives.
  9. Errbody at BJMB knows you're a Dusty fan, brother.

If we've learned one thing about this team it's that it's become increasingly apparent that they have no depth past about 6 guys.
  11. I agree that, from Drew's perspective, Toronto is a great match on a one-year deal. With Goins manning second (and now Reyes possibly significantly injured), AA should be calling Scott Boras yesterday. I wonder if he even has his phone number though.
  12. I wish it were AA making that call.
  13. Between Detroit and now Texas, Drew is basically guaranteed a job any day now.
  14. Not at all. There's just as good of a chance that the Jays' FO saw the ERA and stopped right there. The talent evaluation beyond basic stats seems to be really lacking with this regime.
  15. Yeah. Sometimes a blockbuster can happen out of nowhere.
  16. I wonder what the projections would look like in 5 years. Are you at the top?
  17. Update: I added Garza and he added Kluber to the trade, and we have a deal. So it's Darvish, Salvador and Garza for Edwin, Kluber and Giolito.
  18. After the last few seasons, some good luck would be welcomed and very well deserved.
  19. I agree with you there. I'm just saying that curbing expectations this season is probably for the best lol. Not trying to be negative. Anything can happen, but the roster is not a lot different than last season.
  20. Of course, but I prefer the cautiously optimistic approach. I personally (as I imagine we all do, individually) get so disappointed when high expectations are not met. Meeting them halfway is much more palatable if they fail. Anything above that would be awesome, obviously.
  21. I admire your optimism, but, please, join the rest of us in reality.
