    Yep, I think they hoped Elliott was this guy last season, but other than a spectacular two months or so in the second half, he decidedly was not. Smith has been great so far. I'm excited to see how he and the Flames do this season.

    Sure, but the likelihood that at some point since 2004 the Flames were missing key players in some of those losses in Anaheim is incredibly high, so I don't see the big deal*. *Wildfire aside, of course, which is utterly turrrrribull.

    The Flames just ended their ghastly losing streak in Anaheim with a 2-0 win. Mike Smith was unreal. That's their first win in Anaheim since Jan. 19, 2004 lol.

    Holy crap, that horizontal movement on the slider. It came out of his hands like it was going to be a fastball inside (you can see the hitter buckle and then freeze). I'm pretty sure that covered the entirety of home plate somehow.
