  1. I feel it's more likely that Vlad asked for the bean dip. He's a big boy.
  2. Man, I would love for the Jays to acquire this bean dip. I have a feeling it would go delightfully well with some blue and white corn tortilla chips, and maybe - just maaayyybe - some crudités. BA apparently gave it a 65 FV just yesterday, so it should age pretty well. Apparently it's only 3.6 seconds from bowl to mouth! Considering how cheap it should be to acquire, there stands to be potential for a lot of surplus value here. Do it, Shatkins.
  3. Not really lol. I discussed Bradley with someone as a component to a slightly larger deal, but we ultimately couldn't reach an agreement.
  4. His expected wOBA, which takes into consideration launch angle and exit velocity, was .356. It does not consider defensive shifts or the speed of the runner, though. It's possible there might actually be something there.
  5. Wasn't it Todd's banning that made JFL briefly rage-quit the board?
  6. Welp.

  8. Yes. I've come up with a shortlist of players that intrigue me in some way. Jamie Westbrook Brad Keller Trey Ball (if moved to relief) Jason Vosler (changed his approach, started putting the ball in the air a ton) Charcer Burks Tito Polo Jordan Guerrero Wes Rogers Jason Martin Akeem Bostick (if moved to relief) Ryan O'Hearn Willians Astudillo Nick Burdi Jhoan Urena Mike Ford Gosuke Katoh (familiar surname, right? KATOH's namesake) Nestor Cortes (finished really strong at AAA) Andrew Pullin Jiandido Tromp Franmil Reyes Burch Smith Then there are some guys that are likely too young or too far away to get taken, but are nonetheless interesting: Daniel Gonzalez Dom Nunez Lewin Diaz Harold Arauz (but maybe if moved to relief...) Yohel Pozo
  9. ^ I love that show.
  10. It started with the Pens. I was six and they were in the finals against Chicago. Well, I didn't yet have a favourite team at that point, so I just kind of chose the Penguins, since they were already good, I guess lol. I loved watching Lemieux - such an exciting player. Anyway, the rest is pretty much history. When I started paying attention to the NFL a few years later, I remember struggling to pick a team to cheer for. I remember ultimately deciding on the Steelers because of my pre-existing allegiance to the Penguins, though. Like with the Pens, I was young enough at the time that it just kind of stuck my whole life.
  11. In regards to Yelich, I truly hope that Shatkins are a player for his services. He's already got five MLB seasons to his name, and eight days ago he just turned 26. It's reasonable to assume that he hasn't hit his peak yet and is entering his prime years. Steamer has him projected for roughly 4 WAR next season, and his contract is ludicrously team friendly, with five more years of team control remaining. Despite the weak returns for Stanton and Ozuna, as well as the possible ineptitude of the Miami FO, the Yelich situation is very different than those of the other two, and the Marlins are likely to demand a pretty hefty package. If Yelich wants out of Miami and they put him on the trade block, a potential trade with the Jays probably looks something like this: Bo Bichette - Our second best prospect, and quite possibly a top 25 prospect in all of baseball. Plays a solid SS, which makes him that much more enticing in trade. We will not get Yelich without including one of Vlad or Bo, unfortunately; it's the reality of the situation. Teoscar Hernandez - He may appeal to the Marlins because he's got upside, is young, is MLB-ready now, and is a pretty nice little replacement for Yelich in their lineup. Maybe the Marlins prefer Anthony Alford, though. TJ Zeuch - He had a pretty good AFL for Peoria, and recency bias dictates that he'll be a bit of a "helium" guy. The Marlins, even though they're not a real team, hopefully had at least a couple of scouts in attendance in Arizona. If they liked what they saw, Zeuch is a nice guy to include in this deal because his ceiling is probably not as high as, say, Pearson's. Joshua Palacios - A top 30 org prospect with some tools and appeal. He's a project, but he was a "buzzy" prospect in the system at this time last year. That package in itself is not enough to overcome the sheer surplus value that Yelich's contract provides, so if we agree to take on a big contract like Chen's, now we're in business. The Marlins are in a very unenviable position, and, honestly, the Blue Jays need to exploit that while they can. Please, Shatkins, get it done.
  12. What's the extent of his arm injury history?
  13. Yes, but it's the less interesting one of the Brothers Burdi.
  14. Cuban sounds like a pretty smart guy.
  15. How would you feel about acquiring Profar?
  16. Zac Gallen and Daniel Costano round out the return. Sierra is all glove and Alcantara is probably a reliever. f***ing lol.
  17. That's diligent detective work right there. Rejoice that Todd is back!
  18. The only list that matters.
  19. I'll guess Alcantara, Sierra, Helsley, and Hicks.
  20. Via MLBTR: 12:49pm: It sounds as if young arms will make up a significant part of the return, with Bob Nightengale of USA Today tweeting the package will include multiple pitchers and a position player. Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch adds some more detail, saying the Cards “offered a pitching prospect as the centerpiece of a deal” and that an outfielder will be among the players changing hands. Anyone care to take a stab at the return for Ozuna?
  21. Looks like Todd might be back.
  22. Yep. You're better off waiting for the Twitter rumours to hit MLBTR - or even here.
  23. It's auction time, folks! The first item up for bid is one Jackie Bradley Jr. We'll start the bidding at a second round pick, but it should be noted that I'm open to any assets in return, including MLB or MiLB players. Who will start the bidding? This auction will conclude on Thursday night (no later than 11:30 PM EST, but possibly earlier).
  24. Trade Block Aaron Altherr Drew Pomeranz Kevin Kiermaier Lucas Duda Harrison Bader (actual closer) Juan Minaya Alex Avila Christian Arroyo Ryon Healy Kirby Yates Kyle Barraclough
