I'm not saying Kadri's suspension wasn't justified. I'm saying that Marchand deserves a suspension of at least 3 games for that, given the intent and his history.

If Kadri did the same thing, then everyone would say it's at least 3 games. That's the problem: There's clear intent with the dirty hit, plus his history.

All division winners lost in the first round this year, including a sweep of the President Trophy winners. Hockey is a fun, painful, unpredictable, and absurd game.

Keith Law is just one man's opinion of a prospect. Does he command more respect than other prospect evaluators who have also watched Thornton? Meh. In the end, all that matters is Thornton develops into a good starting pitcher, regardless of one man's opinion.

Outside of Morales (I forgot about the Garcia signing), I have liked their FA signings quite a bit. Good value for relatively cheap contracts.

I see your point. Maybe it's because I kind of prefer getting high risk prospects with high ceilings, but the Jays have stocked up what could be a top 5 farm system (Vlad Jr. helps, but Bo Bichette was a Shatkins pick). Also, my weird perception of some ghostly GM taking over the Jays in 2016 and 2017, for some odd reason. lol

This team won't be competitive until, at least, 2020 (depending on the progress of Bo and Vlad, of course). Even then, the rotation is nowhere near that level, either. All I want this season is for the Jays to play as well as they can, given their roster, and watch Vlad hit some dingers. -
