Can Toronto just get a 2nd NHL team so fans can watch something other than the Leafs?

I believe RAPTOR utilizes player tracking into its model, which likely teases out teammate effects.

Agreed, which is why I thought Marchand's hit deserved (at least) a hearing. Bortuzzo's suspension was so light considering the crap he did, it makes me laugh at the DoPS.

Kerfoot gets suspended 2 games for his hit. Meanwhile, Bortuzzo gets 4 games for assault on ice, and Marchand gets nothing for a similar hit to Kerfoot's that same night. This league's DoPS may as well throw darts at the wall when deciding the punishment for what players do.

Some stuff came to light regarding an incident between Babcock and Marner. https://theleafsnation.com/2019/11/24/tulloch-why-the-leafs-needed-to-fire-mike-babcock/

Moneypuck has them at 31.5%, which is a source I trust more.

Is it? They have 22 points in 22 games. They would need about 96-98 points to contend, which means they need to get about 74-76 points the rest of the way. To get to 98 points, they would need to go on a 0.633 point% pace the rest of the way, which is only comparable to the 2017-18 season (0.640 point%). Is it possible with this talent? Absolutely, but they need to get their heads out of their asses and start giving a s*** on the ice before giving me any reason to believe this team can do it.

I'm not criticizing the players themselves (although, they do deserve some blame for this slump). A lot of the metrics suggests that coaching is a major factor for their slump, especially when you compare the shot maps on offense this year to Hakstol's teams in years past. They're almost identical, and it's very concerning.

They've looked like s*** a quarter of the way through the season, and they would need to go on a ridiculous run just to remain in playoff contention. Until they fire the whole coaching staff, I have little hope in this boring ass team.

The Raptors, according to 538's RAPTOR (min: 75 minutes): WAR Rank: Player: Raptor Offense: Raptor Defence: Raptor: WAR 20: Kyle Lowry: +4.2: +2.0: +6.2: 1.3 WAR 21: OG Anunoby: +1.0: +5.0: +6.0: 1.3 WAR 22: Pascal Siakam: +3.1: +0.6: +3.7: 1.3 WAR 47: FVV: +1.7: -0.2: +1.4: 0.9 WAR 137: RHJ: +3.2: +3.1: +6.3: 0.3 WAR 147: Chris Boucher: +1.3: +2.3: +3.6: 0.3 WAR 151: Terence Davis: +1.1: +0.5: +1.6: 0.3 WAR 195: Serge Ibaka: -2.9: +1.6: -1.3: 0.1 WAR 235: Matt Thomas: +1.2: -4.2: -3.0: 0.0 WAR 237: Norman Powell: -2.9: +0.1: -2.9: 0.0 WAR 249: Marc Gasol: -3.3: +0.0: -3.2: -0.1 WAR Good: Lowry, Siakam, and OG have been off to a good-great start. OG's play, in particular, is slightly below Kawhi's so far this season, but not by as much as I would have thought going into the season. FVV continues to improve his game, even with his flaws. The bench trio of RHJ, Boucher, and Davis have been fantastic to start the season, on both ends of the court. Meh: Thomas is a good bench option for shooting 3s, but that's it. Ibaka is fine defensively, but his offense is a bit of a mystery at this point. Johnson, Miller, and McCaw have not played enough, but their initial numbers don't look so hot. Bad: Gasol & Powell have not impressed so far, and the numbers show it. Both players need to step up their game, especially Gasol.
