  1. I love this quote: Shapiro always does fantastic interviews like this. I keep liking him more and more.
  2. The problem with Shatkins is that they're taking over from a GM whom was incompatible with them. But in the eyes of most Jays fans, the years of mediocrity thru AA's tenure are forgoften because he took them to the playoffs for the first time in a generation. So Shatkins is seen as a usurper and many Jays fans and I'd include fangraphs readers here too, want the success to continue, but don't understand that the team wasn't built to last. The Jays FO is in a f***Y position where they don't know what to do and it doesn't look great on them. Plus, I wouldn't consider the Jays fanbase on fangraphs to be that much more intelligent than the average Jays fan.
  3. But Shapiro was president and I'd imagine still presided over many of the personnel and transaction decisions. Also many of the FO staff he hired worked for the Indians when they acquired their core.
  4. Well, theyasked readers about their favourite teams FO. The Jays fanbase has a huge online presence. Most Jays fans I've dealt still seem generally stupid.
  5. 13 years Rogers owned the Jays and for half that time they had a top 10 payroll. Could easily do worse.
  6. Teenagers bust all the time.
  7. Just 45M of relief for SFG? f***, that's a lot to give up. What are the Giants doing?
  8. I can't imagine he'd hit more than 170 IP. The team that signs him will want to protect his arm. 3.2 WAR as a pitcher, 1.1 WAR as a hitter.
  9. IMO Minor's days as a starter are over.
  10. I could guess is that they have a lot of IF depth they need to clear out? This might've been the best offer they could get. I dunno.
  11. Boxberger suxxxx
  12. I'm so f***ing sick of the constant back to back WS promotions. It's been done to death.
  13. That'd be funny, guy goes from one pitchers park to another.
  14. Given the fragility of our starting IF's even if Goins is platooned with a better player. He still likely stands to receive considerable playing time. It shouldn't be that difficult to find a role player at least better than him. The bar isn't very high. Plus he's a conceited f*** if he thinks he deserves to be a starting player on a lot of other teams.
  15. The problem mostly lies in the fact that it's likely a significant amount of playing time will be given to a below replacement level player if he's still rostered.
  16. Yankees FO could've scouted him just as much. Don't think it makes a difference how much the Jays scout/want him. I doubt they'll be able to lure him away from other suitors.
  17. He'd definitely be cheaper than the Hollands and Davis' of the world and could be just as good. His DRA has been good over the past few years and is trending down.
  18. I'm gonna jump on the Bryan Shaw bandwagon with Abom. He'd be a reliever I wouldn't mind giving a multi-year deal to.
  19. Roy did an interview in 2014 spring training that he would go in as a Blue Jay. Said the same thing after he got inducted into the Canadian Baseball Hall Of Fame.
  20. Blue Cross is f***ing awful, like bottom of the barrel. I've never had so much displeasure dealing with an insurance company. It's definitely worse than the Canadian healthcare system.
  21. You could've swapped New York with Toronto here and there would've been no difference. You're posts are still long as f*** without any actual substance.
