Wow, I wasn't aware Theo Epstein was still a GM.
f***, I wish ballplayers wouldn't do polls like this, they just keep removing any doubt about their stupidity in general.
Maybe cause Janssen has been really good for a few years now and Cecil has been rather s***** up until this year?
You might not agree, but I understand the skepticism.
I agree with this, the only worry about him is that he has now consistently underperforming to what his FIP and xFIP would indicate for those 6 straight years. But the Marlins are most definitely looking to deal him.
I like Gordon Beckham as a potential option, there's no one for second base, he could possibly come cheap, and he was hitting very well before his injury.
Wouldn't hurt.

A plus defender and unreal at throwing out basestealers. He's always able to hit for a high average and he doesn't K much. I remember in the past scouts said he'll develop home run power, but I'm really skeptical of that. Take him over Arencibia? Uh, yeah.
The Cards would never do a Kolten Wong trade for Janssen as a main piece. Especially if they're looking for immediate bullpen help when Rosenthal fills in that spot nicely at the moment. Next year Motte will be back and Rosenthal moves to the rotation, so the Cards don't seem like they're in any desperate need for BP help.

He was pretty valuable last year, if he keeps his K rate below 26% there's no reason to think he can't continue to hit at a level between his 2012 year and now.
