  1. Gose is not MLB proven and his minor league numbers do not suggest he is going to be anything special with the bat. Prospects bust more often than not and then people are left scratching their heads at what happened. On the defensive end he should be stellar, offensively who knows. It's fine to take a chance on him in CF if we can get a good return for Rasmus for another position of need like 2B, but realistically, Gose is probably never going the be anything more than a bottom of the order bat, or a poor leadoff hitter.
  2. Agreed. If he can draw those walks, he should be fine though.
  3. Yeah it just makes so much sense. We have a ton of power in the lineup, it is just foolish not to have your best OBP guys at the top.
  4. And what happens if Gose can't hit his weight in the majors? I think many here don't realize how valuable Rasmus actually is.
  5. For sure. They have gotten to the pen twice already, so there is plenty to look forward too. This team is beginning to instill hope in people again.
  6. I agree with Davis against lefties, but against righties I would like to see someone like Lind leading off. Lind might not be a prototypical leadoff guy, but he is our best OBP guy right now. I like Melky in the #2 hole.
  7. I am actually surprised that Davis isn't leading off against a LHP. Guess Gibby wants to instill some confidence into Lawrie.
  8. Post counts are starting off fresh. It's a new board and a new beginning.
  9. Yup, I wish more people would realize that. It really comes down to our bats. They are going well right now, no reason to think they can't continue this.
  10. I have a feeling the Jays are going to give Moore his first really bad start this season. He is prone to giving up walks and the way our lineup is seeing the ball right now, hopefully they can grind out some AB's.
  11. Enough people use Yahoo. Obviously not to the extent of Google, but its still relevant.
  12. I am going with Bautista tonight.
  13. I did a yahoo search and it comes up as the third hit. The board should be easy to find for new members, especially once they browse through the site and see how active everything is.
  14. They do offer cabs in the van variety too. Whatever though, I don't really care about this anyways.
  15. If he is recovered then yeah maybe if its a one or two year deal. I doubt he would command much at this point in his career anyways. The question is if he can be effective again.
  16. I bet this is it for Doc.
  17. Cab? Limo?
  18. No way, it's way too early. He hasn't even been released yet. None of us know the severity and it's foolish to speculate at this point.
  19. Hopefully Romero can at least keep us in games, if he can I have confidence that this offense will win us some games. Plus our pen is solid to help pickup some of the starters. That being said, we really need JJ back and healthy. We haven't seen how good he can be yet.
  20. Kirk, I think it's a mistake to discount the Red Sox. I doubt they finish last, in fact I am pretty darn confident they won't. Their lineup is pretty solid up and down and they get on base a ton, they will score enough to win a bunch of games and the rotation with the top three is solid.
  21. So it sounds fairly promising, that's good news. Never like to see stuff like that happen to anyone.
  22. The Giants games are actually in Toronto. But yeah, the schedule doesn't really allow for skipping a turn in the rotation. Looks like we will need 4 starts out of the replacement for the rest of the month.
