  1. Its possible, but it might also be a case of reaching conclusions too early Looking at the numbers, from 2008 onwards, Dickey's usually struggled with walks in his first month of the season (his worst BB/9 months each season are usually in April).
  2. Did Jenkins look better after the first inning? I only had time to catch the first inning, and he looked incredibly hittable.
  3. Lawrie was brough up with a very short rehab stint, so I think its fair to assume he wasn't exactly rounded into game form before being called up. In the 14 April games he played in, he was horrendous offensively, So far in 11 games in may, he seems to be coming back to form a bit: 8.5% walk rate, 21% k-rate, and an 18% LD rate ... his .129 babip for the month is clearly unsustainably low The Groundballs are still too high, but he's trending in the right direction

Well the Leafs made the playoffs for the first time in almost a decade So get ready for more Carlye & more face punchers
  5. For a lot of pitcher's it just a case of how the aging curve is completely different than that of many professional athletes (although they are similar to Running Backs). They often enter the league with their best raw arm speed, and it slowly declines over time from there and the process gets sped up by injuries. As they age, many pitchers get smarter and are able to adapt, but some don't and try to overcompensate. But Ankiel was more of a case of a guy who completely lost it mentally.
  6. When Rasmus has everything working, everything looks so easy If there's one player who I can't hold an objective opinion about, it's Rasmus, it just always feels like he's on the brink of turning the corner, and then he falls back. I'll forever be the sucker who holds onto the belief that he figures it out.
  7. The 19.8% HR/FB rate that Lind put up in 2009 was probably an abberation, but if he can get it into the 13% range he normally seems to put up, he could put up a fairly productive season given the improved approach.
