LOL agree My favorite was his reaction the his 62 point record setting game this season.. Guy clearly cares much more about himself than his team. In any case he is also now a FA so... could happen https://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nba-ball-dont-lie/carmelo-anthony-makes-it-official--opting-out-of-final-year-of-contract-with-knicks-to-test-free-agency-174749504.html
  4. True, true And they just can't attract those valuable second-tier free agents They're never going to sign the Canos, Pujols, Fielders etc, and I'm actually happy about that. Those 9-10 year deals are going to be crippling. But that second tier of guys just below those ones (like Sanchez and Beltran and Garza and Ellsbury) is where AA would probably LIKE to play. But they spurn the team because they get so many offers. He's stuck trading for guys like those, and signing third tier free agents like Navarro and Francisco. Well, maybe not STUCK, but he refuses to outbid Detroit and NYY for those second level guys, rightly or wrongly. He probably COULD get one if he were willing to do so.
  5. Yeah for sure Price has gotta be worth more

No, they're going to settle for Durant
  7. Want want want Who costs less - Shark or Price? I want one or the other now that Shields is les slikely to be traded. Price is more $$ but has the better track record obviously.
  8. Don't be a dick ECJF didn't know all that Neither did I until I looked him up. We're not all prospect hounds. Edit: Yes, he could have looked him up before asking the question. But still...

  13. Mind boggling We are insignificant
  14. Unless your name is Encarnacion or Bautista (obvious unusual examples not intented to imply it's likely to happen with anyone else)
  15. Wallace in 79 games this season: .221/.284/.431 OPS .716 104 strikeouts in 285 PA! (that's 36.5%) 4th OF at best?? More likely AAAA player? He's still "only" 27 but he feels kind of Snideriffic at this point. Gose can probably get on base better and provide way more value thanks to speed and defense. So glad we made that trade or we'd all be booing Wallace out of town right now.
  16. I trimmed it
  17. Report: Blue Jays continue scouting Samardzija The Chicago Cubs and starting pitcher Jeff Samardzija have agreed to a one-year, $5,345,000 contract, avoiding arbitration. (Jeff Roberson/AP) SPORTSNET STAFF JUNE 24, 2014, 10:14 AM With five weeks remaining before the July 31 non-waiver trade deadline, the Toronto Blue Jays continue scouting the league for potential upgrades to their starting rotation. Pro scouting director Perry Minasian was among those in attendance at Wrigley Field to watch Jeff Samardzija pitch Monday, according to*Jon Paul Morosi of FOX Sports. Furthermore, Morosi reports that there are strong indications that the Chicago Cubs would trade Samardzija to the Blue Jays if they could obtain right-hander Aaron Sanchez, left-hander Daniel Norris, and centre fielder Dalton Pompey. However, the Blue Jays reportedly maintain that they won’t include all three prospects in the same deal, and are said to prefer David Price of the Tampa Bay Rays or Cole Hamels of the Philadelphia Phillies. Samardzija, 29, has a 2.53 ERA with 97 strikeouts and 31 walks in 103 innings this year. He’s earning $5.35 million and will be arbitration eligible one last time this coming off-season before hitting free agency following the 2015 campaign. Sanchez, who was recently promoted to triple-A, has established himself as Toronto’s top prospect. Though the 21-year-old has struggled with his fastball command this year, he has a 4.08 ERA over the course of 16 starts in the upper minors. Norris, also 21, was enjoying a breakout season at Class A before earning a promotion to double-A. The lefty posted a 1.22 ERA with 76 strikeouts and 18 walks in 13 starts for the Dunedin Blue Jays before advancing to New Hampshire. Pompey has spent the entire season at Class A Dunedin, where he’s batting .312/.392/.460 with 27 stolen bases. The 21-year-old Mississauga, ON native was a 16th round draft pick in 2010.
  18. I agree with you totally Though do keep in mind that we have a chance of extending him or collecting a compensation draft pick.

Wade has to pick between making 20M per season for two years (holy f*** he's not worth that) and losing in the NBA finals every year OR reducing his AAV and having a chance of winning another championship or two.
  20. Trade smaller amounts for a rental pitcher Trade for a long term 2B option

I have to admit I've started cheering for Miami after Lebron's first year there. But this will stop if they bring in Carmelo Anthony I assure you.

I know If Wade opts out too and redoes.his deal maybe they can afford to bring in another star player. They need to to stand a reasonable chance of beating the powers in the West. I think that's plan A. May or may not work though. Who would they go after? Melo?
  24. Dominican message They arrive on banana boats after 2 months of sailing aimlessly
