  1. Keep the 10M available for the trade deadline when we know what we actually need
  2. Exactly He was.probably ashamed of his offensive performance and is motivated to improve again. Simple as that. The funny thing is all the casuals who think he can't hit. Like they'd never heard of him before we got him or something.
  3. Agree 100% Plus extra intangible stuff makes him the more likely choice
  4. 2014 he was one of the absolute best hitters in the game. Wish he'd just do whatever that required again. LOL 170 wRC+ FTW
  5. No, you're right: http://www.rockieszingers.com/2014/05/14/troy-tulowitzki-changed-something/ http://espn.go.com/blog/sweetspot/post/_/id/48936/troy-tulowitzki-best-hitter-in-the-game http://hittingperformancelab.com/troy-tulowitzki/
  6. So Gibby will bat him 5th instead of 1st
  7. Especially against the Yankees
  8. Gibby has always been high on Sanchez
  9. So I take from this zero chance Osuna gets a shot at the rotation?!?!
  10. I missed this tidbit from the same interview: In Marcus Stroman, R.A. Dickey, Marco Estrada and J.A. Happ, the Blue Jays have four of the members of 2016′s starting rotation set. Who will man that final spot remains cloudy, but Gibbons did shed some light on the situation Monday. “We’re going to stretch (Aaron Sanchez) out and see how that all plays out in the spring; decide whether we’re better as a team with him in the rotation or in the bullpen,” the Blue Jays skipper said. “And then of course you have (Drew Hutchison) and you have Jesse Chavez. So there’ll be some good competition.”
  11. The 31-year-old also has a career on-base percentage of .369. Gibbons says Tulowitzki would likely be open to stepping back into the role in 2016, but feels the veteran might be more comfortable elsewhere. “Tulo had always told me — and I believe him and I still think he feels this way — he’ll hit wherever we want him to,” he said. “I think he likes it a little bit further down to be honest with you, so we’ll see. But it really is a hole right now.”
  12. Gibbons interview on the topic: http://www.sportsnet.ca/baseball/mlb/gibbons-leadoff-spot-a-hole-in-blue-jays-lineup/
  13. All he has said is that it's a hole, they have options and that he and/or Tulo prefer him further down in the lineup.
  14. There was a round table on MLB Network yesterday about the top 5 catchers in baseball. Everyone had Posey #1 of course. Everyone also had Martin in their top 5, one as high as #2.
  15. Honestly though, if I'm Gibbons, I have to say something to Pillar about lobbying for the leadoff spot on Twitter and at charity dinners.
  16. Yeah. This has been discussed on here several times. Before they got Henderson the lineup probably should have been. Alomar Molitor Olerud Carter With White 9th Once they got Henderson, you move that top 4 back one spot But oh well. Back to back WS.
  17. Cito would have loved Anthony Gose and Billy Hamilton. Black, nice low OBP, crazy fast.
  18. True Only fast looking black guys can hit leadoff as far as Cito was concerned
  19. Hitting White 2nd and Molitor 6th would be a firable offence in this day and age. Unless you win the WS of course (see Yost, Ned)
  20. Stats > memory SB 346 CS 98 Career for White
  21. For all his speed I don't recall White even being as good at base stealing as you might have expected. It became moot when Gillick acquired Henderson of course. This should have forced White to the 9 spot (Wait, did Gaston hit him 9th or no. I'm suddenly not sure) Edit: the dumb f*** hit White 2nd. How could I forget this. http://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/CHA/CHA199310050.shtml?mobile=false
  22. Buck Martinez thinks Kevin Pillar is a "natural lead off hitter" and should get the spot http://www.sportsnet.ca/baseball/mlb/why-buck-thinks-pillar-is-a-natural-leadoff-hitter/ Of course he does...
  23. It's been so slow with news I made a separate thread
  24. OMG he would soooooo do this
