  1. Thead title is direct from a Ken Rosenthal tweet
  2. Such a crapshoot most years In 1995 they did OK http://www.espn.com/mlb/history/draft/_/year/1995 (only 1 great player came out of the entire first round and we got him at #17)
  3. Jays last decade of "first" first round draft picks: 2016 T.J. Zeuch 2015 Jon Harris 2014 Jeff Hoffman 2013 Phil Bickford 2012 D.J. Davis 2011 Tyler Beede 2010 Deck McGuire 2009 Chad Jenkins 2008 David Cooper 2007 Kevin Ahrens 2006 Travis Snider 2005 Ricky Romero Jonn's comment excludes "later" supplemental 1st round picks Stroman, Sanchez, Arencibia and Pentecost, although Pentecost and Stroman were supplemental for failing to sign Beede and Bickford
  4. Hoffman might still work out!!! Oh, wait...
  5. Pentecost: http://www.cbssports.com/fantasy/baseball/news/blue-jays-max-pentecost-hits-dl-wont-catch-this-season/
  6. OK, the fun-loving unabashed fanboyism made me smile;) I really like Travis too
  7. Always worry about catchers who spend time not catching
  8. One of them certainly should... (the other one isn't even the best player on his team though)
  9. (I didn't make this, found on Bluebird banter)
  10. Also, Brad Ausmus should be fired: http://www.blessyouboys.com/2016/3/14/11218648/detroit-tigers-spring-training-brad-ausmus-anthony-gose-bunting-is-the-devil-bobby For center fielder Anthony Gose, Tigers manager Brad Ausmus has another mandate: to bunt in every single game until the season starts. "With his speed, it can be a weapon," Ausmus said. "Especially against left-handed pitchers." Oh boy. Over his three seasons in the majors, Gose is a .202/.256/.269 hitter against left-handed pitching. The correct answer to the question "What should Anthony Gose do against left-handed pitchers?" is to chew gum on the bench while someone else hits. There's a clear and obvious reason why he is regarded as a platoon player. Ausmus should do everything in his power to keep Gose away from left-handed pitchers during the regular season.
  11. http://www.theglobeandmail.com/sports/baseball/article8501384.ece/ALTERNATES/w620/FJT126_BASEBALL.JPG http://www.gettyimages.ca/event/kansas-city-royals-v-toronto-blue-jays-163495302#former-college-quarteback-mark-derosa-of-the-toronto-blue-jays-a-picture-id179574790
  12. At least acting like a diva is acceptable (nay, seemingly encouraged) in the NFL
  13. Cornerback with extra mustard!!!
  14. When you paste the link into the image dialog box, uncheck the box that says "Retrieve remote file and reference locally" Edit: I see you fixed it. For some weird reason the little thumbnail will stay unless you make a fresh post. It's always been that way. Odd. In any case, next time it won't happen if you uncheck that box in the first place
  15. There are some similarities. Obviously it's highly unlikely Travis has that high of a ceiling talent-wise. But he looks great. Was Altuve much of a prospect before he hit the majors??
  16. Marisnick 65 wRC+ over almost 1000 MLB plate appearances. Almost zero extra base power. Yuck. Worse than Gose actually!
  17. Marisnick, Snider, Gose all traded away and not missed one bit Pillar thankfully kept. Question is, did AA really know something, or did no one actually even WANT Pillar? (I'm guessing the latter but we'll never know)
  18. And the players clearly lacked confidence in him At least they all seem to like playing for Gibbons That's *something* But yes as a tactitian he is leagues behind Maddon, Boachy, etc
  19. Best non-prospect we ever traded for!!!
