  1. It should mean the ability to keep EE or JB
  2. Yeah Timing is good for him to miss time
  3. Closest top 3 in baseball by far
  4. Late sarcastic answer: Jose Bautista
  5. Controversy generator FWIW, if Donaldson keeps it up this year and posts a WAR > 7.5, he will already have 3 seasons in which he has posted WAR all better than Miggy's single best year ever Defense is a thing and most voters will hopefully know it nowadays and when these guys are eligible
  6. Out of curiosity I looked up the shoo-in HOF guys who are later in careers - Miguel Cabrera and Albert Pujols both broke out by age 21/22 as well. So yeah, anyone who waits until 27 to break out has an uphill climb that's for sure
  7. I'd say they're better than that Donaldson broke out with a 7.6 WAR season at age 27 and has kept up that pace for 4 straight years including this one. He's 30 now. Bautista broke out AT age 30 and has had off years (2012 and probably this one) and he's 35 so you're right he has no real shot I'd give Donaldson a legitimate shot but yes, it's easier to acculate HOF credentials if you start off really young like Trout, Harper, Griffey et al
  8. LOL Yes because the Yankees are so short of hall of famers... Tampa has no one I presume?
  9. It's like a Hogwarts/Cooperstown sorting hat type thing then? (joke) Didn't know that the HOF had final say (thank you)
  10. Doesn't the player decide what team they want to go in under?
  11. Brett Lawrie has been a nearly league average hitter 98 wRC+ and on pace for 2 WAR this year Looked up out of curiosity
  12. Well he's reasonably priced for 2016 and 2017, they can hang on to him for likely 20ish M in arbitration for 2018. I'm happy with that for now. Lots of time to talk extension. Yes, I'd love to hang on to him for longer if possible. These are his best years, though, right now.
  13. Doc deserved a WS and never got one here or in Philly
  14. I wish current metrics could be used on players from that era.
  15. Best all around position player the Jays have ever had? He's up there with Alomar and I'd say better. Donaldson does this for 6-7more years and he's a HOFer. (He's already had 3 1/2 awesome years). Only problem is he started a bit late and how will he hold up... Delgado was an awesome hitter but didn't provide value in defense the way Donaldson and Alomar do.
  16. Yes. All star break good feeling times.
