There are only 2 off days during the 7 game ALCS so it's tougher. They play: 2 games - 1 off day - 3 games - 1 off day - 2 games
In the ALDS you have 2 off days between 5 games so it's easier skip a guy if you want to
In April Martin was literally the worst or second worst qualified hitter in all of baseball. (Goins was the other)
Very glad he's bounced back, though he's still striking out too much
For the playoffs in a full series I want
Estrada
Sanchez
Happ
Stroman
for the rotation
I don't think anything less than that is acceptable at this point unless the Liriano/Martin reunion works out beautifully
In a one game playoff or Wild Card I'd be fine with any of those first 3 at the moment
And Stroman has time to win himself back into the conversation
He's at 139.1 innings now
10 more "full" starts would put him over 200, then *hopefully* some playoff starts
It's a problem...
But you gotta try to win the division, all hands on deck
Jays also have several off days coming up, which is nice. BOS and BAL both still have 2 games to make up.
Off days August 11, 18 and 22
Lots of flexibility for Gibby...
Yeah I can see Bautista deciding to publicly embarass the team if they make a move with Sanchez that he disagrees with. It's what he does. And Zaun will back him up.
Bautista wants a WS as much as anyone and he knows full well their chances are better with a healthy Sanchez keeping this up
Or Dickey who could use less time sucking. It would also be an interesting way to f*** with opposing lineups. 3-4 innings each of our hardest throwing starter and the knuckleballer. In-game Dickey effect.
I'm actually being serious
I was wondering that too
It certainly isn't WAR:
