  1. That totally makes sense too, avoiding long term FA deals while they draft and develop young talent without trading it away
  2. I mean if the deal becomes signing a bunch of early-mid 30's guys who can string hits together, to complement a good starting rotation, that could work too But if so we might be subtracting both power AND speed
  3. OK, I like the Morales signing and want Pearce too - moreso actually But... I thought the plan was to get younger and more athletic
  4. Agreed In a real pinch Barney or our backup catcher can play 1B Edit: presuming they sign Pearce or Edwin of course
  5. Super clutch
  6. How many plate appearances did Tabby have with the bases loaded I just have to know
  7. Paul Molitor was so good
  8. Would be way better than going to BOS
  9. Is Maico450 just trolling or...
  10. I'm sure that's true 1 or 2 of those guys could easily still be looking for a job come February and have to accept a 1 year deal
  11. It doesn't always work like that though and we don't know what goes on behind closed doors For all we know Edwin has told them no way he signs here for what the Jays are willing to offer, Beltran's agent won't even return our calls and Morales said the Royals are offering the same deal and they have to decide within 24 hours or he'll sign there I made all that up but hopefully it makes the point
  12. Which do you dislike more - year 3 for Morales or years 4 and 5 for Edwin (if it takes 5)
  13. Same He stabilizes LF for 3 years, doesn't cost a draft pick and leaves enough $ available compared to ohers you still have probably a bit of payroll to work with
  14. Agree on Saunders That would be a massive disappointment If we are moving from Edwin to Morales then we need to upgrade in the corner OF spots, not maintain the status quo
  15. Yes, because the front office won't make a single other move between now and April .......
  16. Yes No QO on him either
  17. Draft picks tip the value balance a lot
  18. Agreed And save some $$ for the trade deadline when we see what's working and what's not
  19. He was my second choice to Edwin If Edwin signs elsewhere for 20-25M and the difference is used to improve elsewhere that's fine even though I'll miss him something awful
  20. Per multiple sources

SI: Through seven weeks of the 2016 season, the NFL’s TV ratings continue to suffer. Michael Mulvihill, executive vice president of research, league operations and strategy for Fox Sports, tweeted new numbers out Tuesday that included, most notably, steep drops for primetime games. Monday Night Football is down 24% from this time a year ago, Sunday Night Football down 19% and Thursday night down 18%
