  1. Ha!! Lost 2 in a row Woot!
  2. Sale vs the Phillies Should win that game 9/10 times
  3. Orioles and Red Sox both lose on our off day Nice
  4. Chris Sale shutting the Phillies out through 7 but Boston hasn't scored either...
  5. Walker down How about Jay Bruce? Or has his season been too good making him overvalued?
  6. Astros had the biggest fail with Aiken at #1 overall in 2014 But it ended up working out for them anyway (Alex Bregman)
  7. Matt Harvey is sooooo broken... Edit: Oh, and so are the Mets. Holy crap...
  8. By Joe Trezza / MLB.com Harvey, Walker to be out several weeks (plus Syndergaard update) Matt Harvey was diagnosed with a stress injury in his right shoulder and Neil Walker was diagnosed with a left hamstring tear on Thursday. Both will miss several weeks, the Mets said. Harvey left Wednesday's 9-4 win over the Cubs after just four innings with what the club called "arm fatigue." Harvey's velocity was noticeably down throughout the start. The right-hander is 4-3 with a 5.25 ERA in 13 starts this season, his first after undergoing thoracic outlet syndrome during the offseason. He received an MRI and a CT scan Thursday at the Hospital for Special Surgery in Manhattan. "It's not a fracture, it's not a bruise," Mets general manager Sandy Alderson said of the injury. "The bone can inflame. It's sort of in that niche, between fracture and bruise." Walker pulled up lame and collapsed near first base trying to leg out a bunt on Wednesday, holding his hamstring. The second baseman has been one of New York's most productive hitters of late, batting .319 with seven home runs and 23 RBIs since May 1 . Alderson also said the club doesn't expect Noah Syndergaard to begin throwing for "at least four weeks." Syndergaard hasn't pitched since April 30 because of a partially torn right lat.
  9. Baltimore losing badly again Red Sox have another game against the cupcake Phillies
  10. And beat them in the World Series!!!
  11. Yankees finally lost a game Thank you!
  12. Jays and Cubs now have identical W-L records
  13. I sure hope so
  14. They're not winning convincingly Not firing on all cylinders But good teamsgo through spells like this If they stay healthy they'll be in contention
  15. Joel Sherman: #Mets announce Asdrubal Cabrera to DL with left thumb strain, T.J. Rivera recalled. #Mets still resist call-up of top prospect Amed Rosario. Reyes will probably play SS near every G, perhaps last chance to save roster spot
  16. Price pitching in Boston tonight for the first time this season
  17. Nationals would kill for him
  18. No one's paying for them like they used to though... (I'm talking about guys who hit 40 HR's and yet still manage only 1-2 WAR, like Carter. Last year BA .218, OBP .313 and he's a negative defender) Low OBP and poor defense, slow speed, etc... (FWIW Judge has a .453 OBP this year and is providing average defense) Bautista and Edwin WERE way better players than that obviously, but I think the other issue that front offices are wary of is the power decline in the late 30's
  19. Paying someone 20M a year to *not* play really suxxx Though maybe his contract was insured...
  20. Mets cannot afford and: David Wright 2017 Contract Status: Signed thru 2020, 14 yrs/$192M (07-20) 2017 34 New York Mets $20,000,000 2018 35 New York Mets $20,000,000 2019 36 New York Mets $15,000,000 2020 37 New York Mets $12,000,000 (I suppose they could move Manny back to SS) (Also I suppose there's a small but real chance Wright never plays another MLB game, but hopefully he eventually gets back)
  21. Also, most front offices now realize that high strikeout 40HR guys aren't that valuable Davis got a little lucky with that contract and signed at the right time This past off season he wouldn't have gotten anywhere near 7 years 161M from any team Not with Carter and Bautista and Edwin all settling like they did
  22. Is there ANY way they can afford to keep Machado?
