    The Rangers have made another rotation addition. They’re reportedly in agreement with Nathan Eovaldi on a two-year deal with a vesting/player option for the 2025 campaign. The ACES client will be paid $16MM salaries in each of the next two seasons with at least a $2MM buyout on the option. The option — which is valued at $20MM — would kick in as a player option if Eovaldi throws 300 combined innings from 2023-24. The contract, which could max out at $63MM over three seasons if Eovaldi reaches all his innings-based incentives, is pending a physical.

    New team is better overall The 2023 team has: Slightly better SP Better BP Much better defense Better baserunning Better complement of players/flexibility/versatility/left-right bat mix Offense is definitely a little worse based on paper projections, but a good year from Vladdy and Springer counteracts that in terms of actual run production on the field

    They seem concerned about cost control now LGJ and Teo were getting a bit expensive in later arb years and now we have Varsho and KK quite cost effective Though all at the same same time they're paying Springer 25M.

    I think ARI got more overall player value out of the trade But I also think the Jays upgraded the team quite substantially This was the young controllable LH hitting OF they were after
