  1. Planning on SP 5 being Kikuchi (or White if Kikuchi sucks) is manageable if the other 4 stay healthy and if Berrios pitches well Obviously, if Berrios sucks or is one of the top 4 gets injured it looks a lot less pretty real fast
  2. Looked a few notables up as I was curious Russell Martin hit 20M in the contract he signed at age 31 https://www.spotrac.com/mlb/los-angeles-dodgers/russell-martin-477/#:~:text=Current%20Contract,annual%20average%20salary%20of%20%2416%2C400%2C000. Posey eventually was making 21.4 but he signed in his late 20's Realmuto has the highest paid years (23.85M) for a catcher in his deal he signed AT age 30 https://www.spotrac.com/mlb/philadelphia-phillies/jt-realmuto-16097/#:~:text=Current%20Contract-,J.T.,a%20total%20salary%20of%20%2423%2C875%2C000.
  3. Not for normal users - "brands and advertisers that want to remain verified on Twitter will need to pay $8 monthly to keep their blue badges" https://www.inc.com/minda-zetlin/twitter-paywall-elon-musk-david-sacks.html
  4. The Rangers have made another rotation addition. They’re reportedly in agreement with Nathan Eovaldi on a two-year deal with a vesting/player option for the 2025 campaign. The ACES client will be paid $16MM salaries in each of the next two seasons with at least a $2MM buyout on the option. The option — which is valued at $20MM — would kick in as a player option if Eovaldi throws 300 combined innings from 2023-24. The contract, which could max out at $63MM over three seasons if Eovaldi reaches all his innings-based incentives, is pending a physical.
  5. They still have depth in the rotation It's fine.... It's fine!
  6. This bullpen collection and management seem less likely to blow a bunch of spring games AM I wrong?
  7. Also managers/bench coach -2 bongos + 1 Shneid factor +1 facial hair +2 sideburns = +2.5wins
  8. Agreed On a paper it's a few games better Last year's team could have won 95 games This year's team is more likely to
  9. New team is better overall The 2023 team has: Slightly better SP Better BP Much better defense Better baserunning Better complement of players/flexibility/versatility/left-right bat mix Offense is definitely a little worse based on paper projections, but a good year from Vladdy and Springer counteracts that in terms of actual run production on the field
  10. Watching Tapia's lackadaisical throws in a Rockies uniform reminds me that he won't play for Toronto this year and that makes me very happy
  11. Also why should Vlad have to DH If he can't handle 1B every day at age 23 we have a real problem
  12. Who has the better arm, Springer or Varsho?
  13. How nice is that? LF Varsho CF Kiermaier RF Springer They will catch all the balls!
  14. For sure. Much better OF coverage with the additions of KK and Varsho
  15. Yes And I think he can probably improve Team prob thinks so too
  16. I was thinking same Seems they've been waiting out the market. Good target for them.
  17. Or maybe it's just that sometimes you have to trade a good player to get a good player...
  18. GMs Ross Atkins, Mike Hazen Share Details On Blue Jays/Diamondbacks Trade https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2022/12/blue-jays-close-to-acquiring-daulton-varsho.html
  19. They won't be saving quite as much as I thought Varsho is a Super Two apparently
  20. They seem concerned about cost control now LGJ and Teo were getting a bit expensive in later arb years and now we have Varsho and KK quite cost effective Though all at the same same time they're paying Springer 25M.
  21. Feels like a deal where we normally get a prospect back at the lower levels in addition to the major leaguer Is 6M in payroll reduction enough to counteract that?
  22. I think ARI got more overall player value out of the trade But I also think the Jays upgraded the team quite substantially This was the young controllable LH hitting OF they were after
  23. I think ARI got more overall player value out of the trade But I also think the Jays upgraded the team quite substantially because you can't extract value from 3 catchers and Varsho is excellent This was the young controllable LH hitting OF they were after
