    Glad to hear it Update: By Andy McCullough 2h ago The 2024 season may not be Clayton Kershaw’s swan song in Los Angeles. His new contract with the Dodgers includes a player option for 2025, a person briefed on the negotiations said. That clause would allow Kershaw, who is rehabbing from major shoulder surgery and won’t return until later this summer, a chance to spend an additional full season with the team and share the starting rotation with Shohei Ohtani.

    Reading between the lines They couldn't get anything they wanted in return for him and they're giving him a chance to make the rotation out of spring training

    Is anything, at this point they should be willing to take on a good player on a bad contract that another team wants out of (Trout, Tatis, Machado, etc) with the other team eating some $$.

    I don't even care He can pay good defense at 3B. But we'll never use him in the OF and he won't hit. Not happy at all that we even signed him because I worry he'll get 400-500 PA's in the 8 spot and be a black hole.

    Good player to have on the bench, play 2B/LF intermittently and fill in for 7-10 days if someone else is hurt. Nothing more, nothing less.

    Only trades that would clear enough payroll to make a difference would be Springer or a SP that we want to keep They probably did work on some trades that never happened.

    The four remaining FA’s from the MLBTR top 10 are all Boras clients: 2) Bellinger 4) Snell 6) Montgomery 7) Chapman Someone has to blink eventually

    An ideal outcome might be a rookie mashing in AAA and forcing "whoever plays 2B" or IKF to a bench role

    So Springer Bo Vlad Turner Varsho Jansen/Kirk Whoever plays 2B IKF KK That's kinda just OK. An better bat at 3B would be awfully nice.
