  1. Zip it prankster
  2. I hate that this just made me laugh so hard
  3. I can't believe some of the stuff I'm starting to let myself think is "OK" Yikes
  4. Sigh. Good point. LOL (Actually the only poster I ever had on my IL was metallijay)
  5. Heyman, on potential trades for David Price: http://cbsprt.co/1kZyk5X
  6. This is true for sure Give us something to talk about FFS. How about an arbitration gearing or singeing. Something!!!
  7. You know what I hated about the old board? The fact that so many discussions became endless bickering at stupid s***. That threads became clogged with people yelling at each other. That you'd have to skip whole pages in a thread to find a post about the original baseball topic it was supposed to cover. That posters couldn't just let bygones be bygones and instead would start dragging out the same personal grievances in every thread. That there were more posts about the "characters" on the board than actual baseball discussions Well guess what? That's what's happening here. It's not just CHP and Moh You either, even though a very vocal part of this board would love for us to get rid of both of them. But that won't be enough. I would just like to see everyone (those guys AND their detractors) post about baseball. If you disagree, fine. Say so. Make your point. Let the other make his. Then leave it at that. 20 more posts about who said what a week ago, or about who has better English, or about who has the hottest girlfriend is just tiresome ******** that none of us want to hear. CALM THE f*** DOWN. Short term bans on anyone who just deliberately stirs s*** up is going to be the new norm for a while until people "get it"
  8. Yep. How could they possibly finish ahead of Oakland or Texas?
  9. But they GOT Cano!!!
  10. Totally disagree Rules-violating posts get deleted People get warned People get banned Some people are just plain dumb, or irritating as f*** but don't break any rules and we tolerate them You can't make everyone happy all the time. Everyone has different thresholds of what they think is acceptable. We try to find the middle ground. If you want to start your own authoritarian message board where people get banned every time they make a dumb post, or one that annoys you, go right ahead
  11. Really though. Do you really sign ONE GUY knowing it will make you hit your payroll max, when you have 4-5 other needs as well? Wow that's a terrible idea.
  12. For cash, aparently Nothing wrong with that
  13. I suppose LOL It's clearly the same old laughing JP picture with a new hat Looks good on him, though, IYKWIM
  14. Is your new avatar real or Photoshopped? Either way I like it
  15. Yeah, this may not be the end of it, for sure
  16. Another LOL from Glieb: "Ryan Howard does still live." Ruben Amaro Jr. defends his roster: Read more on Philly.com › "We've had great support from our fans and they've been very supportive of our players," Amaro said. "But they have to understand that Ryan Howard does still live. He exists and he’s still part of our club. He's one of the most important parts of our club. "Will Ryan Howard hit 58 home runs? I doubt it. If he hits 30 home runs, I’ll take it. And that's exactly what I'm looking for from him."
  17. Strange, strange concept I wonder if the Jays should consider that? Naw... better to just keep hoping someone will trade a top of the rotation starter for scraps
  18. Tanaka won't be coming after all??? Fox Sports: - UPDATED DEC 19, 2013 9:26 AM ET Days after expressing his interest in joining Major League Baseball, it appears Japanese pitcher Masahiro Tanaka will stay in Japan, according to multiple reports. AROUND THE HORN Rosenthal | Morosi | Buzz Several Japanese newspapers reported Thursday that the Rakuten Golden Eagles -- which control the rights to Tanaka until the end of 2015 –- will not allow major league teams to bid for him. Rakuten will, however, double or triple Tanaka’s current salary of approximately $4 million a year. The increase would make him the highest-paid Japanese pitcher in history. Tanaka, sources tell Fox Sports 1 Insider Ken Rosenthal, is the No. 1 target of at least three clubs - the Yankees, Diamondbacks and Rangers - and probably others. His lack of availability would lead some of those teams to redirect their money elsewhere; the Rangers, for example, could renew their pursuit of free-agent outfielder Shin-Soo Coo. Rakuten could post Tanaka after next season or keep him for two more years before he becomes a free agent, eligible to negotiate with any team in any league. If Rakuten does not relent with Tanaka, MLB’s decision to pressure Japanese baseball into accepting a maximum $20 million posting fee likely will draw increased scrutiny and criticism. http://msn.foxsports.com/mlb/story/japanese-pitcher-masahiro-tanaka-not-joining-major-league-baseball-121913
  19. "In house options", guys It may be all we've got
  20. It's better than a -3 WAR one like we had last year But still should have aimed higher, especially when the insane price of pitching became obvious
  21. Seems that way, at the moment anyhow
  22. Don't be silly. Just need some of this: http://www.ambrosiasw.com/assets/images/news/lightningshirt.gif
