  1. Wow that surprises me. Obviously not his abilities - he's an excellent catcher. Obviously for reliability reasons.
  2. Mauer is done as a catcher! Wow
  3. Rangers may be toast
  4. Yes they do
  5. Bring it on! Hungry for news
  6. For sure And that thread is all over the place
  7. Yes, in the off season roster thread
  8. If only we knew how much better (if any) Melky will be in LF this year. Because if he starts there, our 4th OF figures to be the light hitting, left handed Gose. Melky has identical results from both sides of the plate so could nicely fill in at DH vs LHP, but that that doesn't help if it puts Gose in the outfield for those games against lefties because he might be even worse than Lind. We really need to add a quality RH bat no matter what.
  9. Tigers only gave him 5 years. According to Lott/Davidi's book we offered the same didn't we?
  10. Both look like they have a good chance to be legit above average MLB starters. Syndergaard probably has a higher ceiling.
  11. Not because he hasn't tried though. It sounds like he offered Carlos Beltran and Anibal Sanchez contracts that were competitive with what they were given by STL and DET. They just chose to play elsewhere. Does that suck? Yes. But it's not because AA wasn't willing.
  12. The only way trading Lind makes any sense is if the team has decided Melky is best suited to DH and they have their sights on a top quality OF like Choo. (Ie. Not likely at all)
  13. They know better than other teams who among Miller, Wacha and Rosenthal are the ones to keep and who another GM might overpay for.
  14. OK, correction: the most I'm willing to let myself realistically expect AA to acquire without setting myself up for disappointment. Tempered enough? I think we could hope for Tanaka but don't want to have too high expectations.
  15. One hundred billion dollars??
  16. Then we must extract Ervin Santana (I'm convinced he's the best we can hope for in terms of a starter)
  17. I sooooo don't want a loviste shirt for Christmas
  18. Angrioter blasting this embarassment of a Dominican baseball player in 3.. 2.. 1..
  19. Random annoying Boni tweet to someone wanting a loviste shirt
  20. Milwaukee is going nowhere fast and the fans hate him. They probably should trade him actually.
  21. Absolutely And he needs at LEAST 15M on top of the 14M he saved in letting Johnson walk to make a noticeable impact.
  22. Good point. Would prefer it be Jays rather than Padres.
  23. I miss AA's pillaging days
