  3. Seitzer was on PTS today. Worth a listen when it's on the Sportsnet On Demand section Smart guy. Studies the game deeply you can tell. A few tidbits I remember: Batting practice EVERY DAY now includes practicing hitting balls the other way and bunting Pep talk for Pillar last night before his walk-off at bat is something he does regularly - goes to book of stats on what any given pitcher throws in what situations/counts and prepapres the hitter for it Bautista tried going to other way more in spring training to beat the shift and got really exited about how well it worked. Seitzer has given up on trying to quiet Brett Lawrie down any more. Says it's part of what Brett is and doesn't want to affect his timing by reducing the last move he makes before swinging. Says with Brett his struggles are usually mental, not physical. His hands are so good he gets through the zone in good position, but he used to spend too much time overthinking what pitch might be coming. McCown was first to say that Lawrie should "think less and react more" and Seitzer said that's exactly it. LOL
  4. If ownership has ANY sense, they'll either force him to deal away these declining vets, or fire him and get someone new in to do the job
  5. Orioles GM says demoting Machado 'an option' Ken Rosenthal FOX Sports JUN 10, 2014 10:18a ET SHARE 109 TWEET 66 9 As the Orioles await word on whether Major League Baseball will suspend Manny Machado, they face their own pressing decision on the struggling third baseman. Should they demote Machado to the minors? “That’s always an option,” general manager Dan Duquette told FOX Sports on Tuesday. “The guy distinguished himself in the big leagues last year. We’d much rather see him develop his skills here. But that’s always an option.”
  6. And I think the Phillies are going to be forced to sell. They would absolutely foolish not to.
  7. LOL @ using 2013 Josh Johnson as your yardstick LOLOLOLOL
  8. You should tell that to New York and Baltimore
  9. I am no longer satisfied with splits. I want 3/4. Anything less is disappointing to me.
  10. That's better than 2/5ths of the Yankees rotation and 3/5ths of the Orioles rotation (not that that means we shoudn't aim higher)
  11. He could win 15 games this season "15 game winner" JA Happ will be quoted for years. When he's terrible in 2015 Buck and Tabby will wonder why... "What's the matter with Happ? HE WAS A 15 GAME WINNER LAST YEAR> OMG what is the matter" etc etc
  12. I know Because Dickey's ERA went up 1.5 runs after his magical Cy Young season to the AL East while he was slightly injured, we should expect the same to happen to ALL NL starters. Pffft
  13. Thanks Gruber. LOL
  14. If we could pick up him or Shields I'd be thrilled. Hoping Stroman sticks and gives us mid rotation caliber performance. But if he falters, it hurts less if we have Shields or Shark in the rotation. Happ as swingman (which he likely becomes if we pick up a starter) is better than Hendriks or Redmond IYAM. So I'm happy with what Happ is doing but would NOT use it as an excuse to not try and upgrade.
  15. There's been so much Happ hate over the last 2 years. But I now find myself legitimately excited to watch his starts and see if he can carry the streak of decent starting pitching he has provided so far. Am I the only one who looks forward to his starts? LOL
  16. How do people feel about him this season? I'm curious. I think he's been better than expected. Quite a better than expected. and not just lucky, but legitimately good, better than the average 5th starter. Will it last? Don't know. He had a good 1/3 season last year before his injury than was never the same. But this has been a good run and I'm happy about it for sure. Thoughts?
  17. "Touch my cock ump. Touch my God Damn extra 2% cock you piece of s***!" Oh wait... are we playing caption the image or no?
  18. She was still really hot then. How many years after Elvis died?!?!?
  19. Devil's advocate - Gibby didn't HAVE to pull him there. He didn't get a chance to go 7 innings.
