    Worse case they just take him to arbitration for three years. It's really not that big a deal. We're definitely not gonna be able to extend him though.

    I don't think it's necessary to care about the unranked prospects. They'll move up eventually if they're good, just like in real life.

    Trea Turner seems WAAAAYYYY too high to me, especially for redraft. I guess these rankings must be for 5x5, given where Billy Hamilton is.

    Yeah, I think so. But a 110 wRC+ and 3 WAR I think is definitely a possibility.

    If Tulo bounces back to his predictions for next year (2.5 WAR assuming reasonable health), even his contract is probably break even.

    I'm not sure I'd want to give up Wright either. I think Powell and Siakam would be the two best choices. Maybe you could look at trading Ibaka, and letting Poeltl take that position if you really need to free up money, but then you're probably committed to keeping JV for the foreseeable future.

    Even if his body trended in the direction of Fielder (which seems unlikely to THAT degree), his bat is probably projecting similar atm and he would likely be better defensively. That's still 200+ home runs, close to a .300 average, and at least 20 something WAR before he hits free agency. As long as we didn't extend him, we'd come out way on top. Hopefully he keeps the weight under control and blows that out of the water

    I think they suggested they gave the agent an indication of what they'd be comfortable with, but I'm not sure they ever gave him a formal offer.

    It's certainly not ideal, I was just saying that the pose was an extremely poor choice.

    To be fair, of all the reasonable poses they could have put him in, that one was pretty much the worst possible. Even Ichiro might look fat in that pose.

    Yeah, it's basically the "to hell with scouts" list. It's useful to find potential sleepers, which I think is the point. Just like any other system, keep in mind its strengths and weaknesses and it can provide another useful viewpoint.

    So it looks like Malachai Richardson is owed 4M over the next two years, plus the remainder this year and Bruno just the remainder this year. So we're paying 4M to save 1M on the cap this year?
