    Kelly Gruber at the game! Have to admit, didn't twig on until they said it though. Looks pretty good.

    When you make a waiver claim, it automatically adds the player if successful.

    As soon as the draft is over, all the remaining players are normally put on waivers.

    A few happened last year during the draft when we didn't realize they weren't allowed I think, but no one cared enough to bother rolling the draft back. It's been made clear this year.

    There were 4 incorrect calls listed, all of which were against us. 3 of the 4 were Blake Griffin getting away with stuff.

    Pretty sure he was protected in both the BBDL and BORED.

    He's projected at 2.2 WAR, not almost 3 WAR. Regardless, there's several players (Granderson in particular) that seem very low. A healthy Sanchez blows away 1.9 WAR too.

    Dropping Pearce and picking up Neil Walker would be fantastic imo. Travis could play 2nd vs lefties, a little OF, maybe DH twice a week. Probably keeps him healthy, and improves the team quite a lot.

    Fangraphs has us projected at 87 wins (and I think the 2nd wildcard).

    Who exactly? Ozuna would be the closest (but he had 2 years left instead of 1, which is a big difference), and he basically brought a top 70 prospect and a wildcard. Cutch brought a reliever and a wildcard (and int cap money). All the other interesting guys had considerable control remaining.

    It seemed that teams weren't paying much for players this offseason period, whether trade or FA. I don't think we would have gotten that much, maybe not even the equivalent of compensation.

    The best part of that might be Sanchez, and considering the days the other guys had, that's saying something.

    I'd probably take Bukauskas, but you likely can't go wrong with either him or Pearson imo.

    He was still averaging 94 mph last year. He may have to spend some time in AAA, but someone will probably give him some MLB innings at some point in the season.

    Ignoring whatever the hell happened in this thread, there's a few people here who are very knowledgeable on advanced statistics and analytics. If what you're looking for is people who post tons of little generic fluff pieces on every player while trying to attach a SABR label to it, you won't find it here. We do quite often discuss various players and performance during the season though, as the situations present themselves. Those discussions definitely use everything at our disposal. If you're looking for deep, in-depth articles, new projection systems, etc, you probably won't find that specifically on any forum, as they aren't something that can be mass produced. They take extensive work. You may find them discussed here though. We have had members that have produced these in the past. General forum activity will pick up once the season starts. The board's fantasy leagues are quite active all year.

    We're still about a month away from the start of the season. I doubt they have a firm plan on who will round out the pen yet until they see everyone pitch for a few more weeks.
