I have to say, I legitimately don't know who I'm going to take yet. My top two targets disappeared before the draft started. What a horrible year to have the top pick.
Nothing wrong with this move. You need these expendable guys who you can call up in an emergency, then cut loose after. Injuries usually don't coincide with the ideal guy to bring up from the minors.
Neil Walker would look pretty nice manning 2nd for us this year. Get as much eaten as possible for Morales, Devon could DH and play 2nd (possibly OF) versus lefties.
It seems like most of the top end guys have turned down pretty big offers, and teams moved on to alternate plans. It would be a lot more disturbing if the offers were never there to begin with.
He threw over 200 in 2016. I think they'll be careful with pitch counts and throwing sessions, but I doubt they put any actual inning restrictions on him.
Also, if we have a guy on the 60 DL that we can put in that slot (like with Britton), can we keep an extra waiver pick if we have it, since we can use it?
