    People have to stop talking like the Nats are this huge upset. Since the 19-31 start they have won more games than anyone else in baseball. They were 4th in baseball in WAR totals

    I think this is a key comment (and one of the few Brownie has ever made). If the goal is to get to over 40 team fWAR (Boston and NY Mets were the only teams over 40 last season and did not make the playoffs and Brewers at 37.1 were the lowest playoff team), is the core we currently have assured of at least doubling the 2019 total (11.5 for the offense), just by being together for a full season. Then on top of that you have to find the pitching

    It was my word. And I have asked Admin to add mod to Boxy several times. He doesn't even acknowledge the messages. It's entertaining. He will answer everything else and just not a mention of the Boxy for board. But now Boxy has a decision to make after his big win. For the record this is what I see on Boxy's profile. It is just waiting on Admin's approval

    I don't disagree. But it's the "The way it should be" comment that makes him sound old ... or cantankerous like Boxy

    The stuff that Bauer has said hasn't changed anything in the media's eyes. Getting mad at his manager likely wouldn't change much

    No cause I don't think the Jays will go above their evaluation. Just not their style. I feel that Atkins is more of a 1 best offer type. The bonus is that there are a lot of pitchers out there this year and Cole seems like the type that isn't going to decide quickly so Jays could concentrate elsewhere while teams are waiting to hear from Cole. The Rays did it nicely with Morton last year.

    Also not announced, but a conversation I have been privy to is that Dunedin will start taking 2 interns from a certain Toronto Sport Management College Program. Starting in Spring 2021.

    c - Sanchez 1B - EE 2B - Altuve SS - Bogaerts 3B - Sano OF - JDM and s*** SP - Scherzer, Kluber and Boyd RP - Hader, Ottavino, Jansen, Doolittle. It's not a team that's missing the playoffs for a while.

    7 years $260M is what I think he'll be seeking. Angels will be in play. Nats will be in play. Phillies will be in play. Astros with an opt out should be very appealing to Cole. That is without Dodgers, Astros and Yankees

    Honest answer. how much more do the Jays have to offer Cole for him to consider coming here? 2 extra years? Many opt outs? $30M? Remember his history. The Yankees couldn't sign him out of high school offering him $4M as a high school pitcher (despite talking about how he grew up a huge Yankees fan). The Pirates had to offer him record money and he waited until 15 minutes before the signing deadline. He publicly complained that the Pirates didn't offer him above league min in his second year. He insisted on a trade when the Pirates talked extension with Polanco and not him. This is a guy that has Scott Boras as an agent and wants to be paid more than any other pitcher in baseball. I really think any offer the Jays make him is PR only.
