  1. Toronto millennials are fickle. They go to where ever the place to be is (BMO for a while and again a couple years ago, Jurassic Park...travelling to see games ). Toronto will always do better than average based on their 30 to 50 year old fanbase.
  2. How in the f*** is Bass still Arb Eligible? Fun fact he's the only player drafted out of my school (can I call it Alumni when I dropped out?). Solid enough move.
  3. Tarasenko is available at a bargain basement price for anyone who doesn't think they are playing for this year. When I say bargain basement I mean an upgrade on what I have on my roster.
  4. CD, you can message me. I'm the only one that does my deals publicly. Honestly there is lots of time still. Get acquainted with your team. I took over a team two years ago and it's not my team IMO, so I have never really liked the league as much. I'd like to start over with players I like. doing it in one deal seems better to me cause then i don't have to deal with the others in this league
  5. I am just going by what is on Twitter. They said the only thing left was the CN Tower and dome
  6. repost I will offer you the same deal publicly. Carlos Perez, Verlander, Chris Sale, Shane Greene, Machado, Trevor Bauer for Your 1st, Huira, Tatis Jr., Libratore, Jones, Pearson, Graterol and Balazovic. (I might take any pitchers that don't make your cut too) One stop shopping with 1 trade and makes you the favourite after pulling off the 8 seed last year. willing to do smaller but I want to turn my entire team over and you have many guys I really like. Think about it

  8. I think it's $30M right now. Simplest way to calculate the value is take the NHL deal ($400M approximately per year) and divide it by six. It is completely unscientific way of figuring it out but probably as close as any other guess. I've been saying it for years though. The valuation of the club is getting so big that if Rogers needs cash at any point it makes sense for them to sell the team and stadium and just openly bid on the TV rights.
  9. About time. I was actually a fan of his at one time. But you can't lose your two biggest trades so badly and not have your job on the line. Pirates fans watching Cole, Glasnow, Meadows and Morton in the playoffs was the last straw. Then there is the whole militarizing your minor league roster.
  10. Ha Stroman covered up the Toronto Skyline tattoo he had.
  11. Most annoying thing and the reason the Nats are going to lose is stupid people calling them the Expos
  12. Keon Broxton led me to the over 40% k rate one being correct. I also pretty much nailed that almost every team in the NL would be .500 too
  13. and you couldn't have made the trade with me first?
  14. This is why ratings are down.

Nothing makes me happier than seeing Leaf fans in panic mode
  16. I don't agree with that. They have tied payroll to projected revenue in the past. If Shapiro makes a case based on a 5 year projection they would approve IMO
  17. For the past 5 years everyone has said you can't win without a lights out pen. Now the Nats have the worst pen in the playoffs and everyone is saying you have to have 3 lights out starters. Well that's a luxury the Jays would have to luck into. This front office is going to look at what it will take to make the Jays a playoff contender which is getting to that 40 WAR range as a team. Regardless of how they do it. They aren't going to say "you have to have this pitching staff cause that's how the Nats got there). As for Cole he's the easiest way to add 6 wins (when healthy). Now think of the other teams with payroll flexibility who become a lot closer to top contenders; Padres - Even after the Machado contract they are still under $100M this year. Signing Cole would allow them to move some of those hard throwing prospects to the pen. An end of the year rotation of Cole, Paddock and Gore would leave them playoff ready this year and if even 2 of their other pitching prospects progress to be legit starters it sets the Padres up for years. I'm not a fan of Preller and I think if he got a Cole he'd sell it all off for a run, but as far as depth assets they have the most. Braves - Similar to the Padres in which they have a low payroll compared to their position, yet the pitching prospects probably aren't ready to step into a playoff contender. Cole would stabilize their rotation and the spects working out again makes them a 3 year contender. AA likely is still more of a trade for his pitching guy but still I can see them at least matching anything the Jays do. Rays - 2nd lowest payroll in baseball, a $25M increase in TV money and no one due a big raise for at least 2 years (Snell is getting $6M more next year with his extension). Could give him $35M and barely be over their highest payroll ever. Astros and them are the only real contenders in a no tax state. They have a 40 man crunch and it would have to be paired with a 3 for 1 type trade. I don't believe they will do this much off the M.O. but it would be the perfect year to do it. White Sox - Most similar to the Jays as the majority of the their prospects are really close. Personally I'm not as big a fan as most on what they are building, but the division still looks to be weak for next 5 years so they have it easier. Twins - What better way to replace Pineda, Odorizzi and Gibson. They have more starting FA's to replace than anyone else so I truly don't see them being in play. Giants - Who has more influence than Boras...the wife. Reds - No chance it happens, but how fun would it be to have him and Bauer as teammates again. This doesn't include the 5 favourites to sign him with the Astros, Angels, Dodgers, Yankees and Rangers. In short I could just say that there are loads of teams with flexibility which could match anything the Jays offer. I really believe they have to go way above everyone else to get a response from him. I think they make a fair offer for PR purposes and let it go and take several steps down.
  18. High-em is the man! A complete Epstein clone
  19. f***ing loves him
  20. Draft would be moved to after the CWS which makes way more sense
  21. The independent teams would be owned by MLB and MiLB. They are trying hard not to affect the cities/towns that would lose affiliates. Biggest change might be that Minor leaguers would be partially included in the CBA
  22. They have a history of underperforming in the Playoffs, but I don't believe that teams are chokers. To me this is as surprising as the Dodgers winning. Of Course we also should note that this isn't over
  23. What do we all suspect about the Astros F.O.? They do shady s***. Like real baseball shady s***. MLB was about to investigate. Firing Taubman ends the investigation.
