  1. The Jays have the highest offer
  2. I have no idea if Shapiro is a Shabbos Goy or not (the goy pronunciation of his name makes me think he is) but Chanukah started today. Friedman usually makes his deals prior to and doesn't work the during the festival of lights
  3. An agents job is to get a player where they want to play. Jays currently have the best offer and then Boras is trying to get a competitive one from the teams trying to add by trade
  4. The Mike Piazza of amateur scouting directors.
  5. Rumoured ask was May and Lux +. Rumoured reply was Seager, May & Downs. Some Reds writers have talked about Senzel, Greene and Santillan. Mets peeps are saying Rosario, Davis, Baty +.
  6. It is my homage to the original owner.
  7. two words...Carson Fulmer. 25 and out of options but still shows flashes of "stuff" but you have to throw him in as your mop up guy or lose him. Don't rush your spects in seasons that don't matter.
  8. Interesting article written by the Jays most recent hire and new Canadians manager https://community.fangraphs.com/using-objective-feedback-to-drive-hitting-programming-and-evaluate-progress-at-lsu-shreveport/
  9. most boring announcement ever.
  10. So 79 degrees is good. Not over 80
  11. see that is your (and many other people's) issue. You assume this is out of necessity rather than the best way to do business. Age has nothing to do with it...it's about using many pitchers with options and putting pitchers into their best chance to be successful by extra days rest (is Glasnow the same pitcher on 4 days rest or was he successful because he was given 5 or 6 days off?), shorter outings and matching them up in the best scenarios. Talent is a factor...but the Jays have a lot of talented pitchers. Sorry if this hurts your ideal way to build a baseball team. But don't worry MLB will keep making rule changes to stop it anyway
  12. hit the minus on the player and hit submit.
  13. I think we have to make a ruling on that. Is it you can only have 22 non-green flag players? I have Hoerner, Suarez and Lewis all on my farm without green flags. I intended on keeping them there. I don't think it will be a problem as I'm only keeping 19 MLB players at this time.
  14. if you don't like it than I suggest that you become a fan of a different team. Cause honestly it's likely the direction they go. Rays have 12 or so pitchers end up between 40 and 100 innings (depending on injuries it's been as many as 15 in the past 3 years). This is what the Jays should be looking at...not just with the current group, moving forward as well. In the end you have to cover approx 1450 innings. If you have the starters to cover 900 of those (Mets, Indians, Astros and Nats were the only ones that did last year) then of course you do that. Jays don't have a Morton, but they do have the ability to match the 11 fWAR the Rays got from the other 525 innings from starters (which is why I think they should be shooting for a 12-15 WAR starting staff). Guys like Ryan Yarborough, Jalen Beeks, Drake, Chirinos, Roe, Kolarek, Kitteredge are not any more talented than the pitchers we have. We have to learn how to use what we have properly. Spend on improving the offense.
  15. We finally have the depth to throw out a Rays type strategy to run a projected 5 fWAR rotation into a sub 4.00 ERA 12 WAR staff. Now we find out if they have the smarts to maximize what we have
  16. Anyone else feel that the Jays will have used at least 18 pitchers by June 1st. They have 22 on the 40 man with really only Elvis not knocking on the door. Only 6 don't have options. The Buffalo express
  17. I don't think you are wrong. I think they will run with what they have and re-evaluate mid-season. I think they add a bat and mainly keep talking trades.
  18. He calls his forkball the Shun Gun. How can you not love the guy. It's not true but it should be a thing. I know nothing about him but his numbers but it looks promising.
  19. I appreciate the offers. My #1 desire is to trade more prospects. So if you aren't bothered by it those offers might sit for a bit.
  20. and when they ask for an asset back???
  21. I would say he'd be target number 1. I can see a three way with the Indians, Mets and Dodgers. Mets are still projected better than Nats, Braves and Phillies by Zips/Steamer. With shortstops and OF being on the move as well.
  22. Dodgers plan C is the trade route, IMO. I don't think anyone needs to deal right now (most rumoured trades can wait for the season, without changing value), but it's interesting that only Kluber has been traded of the "will be traded this off-season" guys. I predicted that we are going to see the biggest trade of recent years this off-season and I still think it's going to happen.
  23. I didn't pay enough attention when making my trades (I thought I had plenty of minor league guys I could drop but turns out I had a pretty good draft last draft (likely the one that J4L did for me). Willing to move some of my younger prospects for picks and pick upgrades. Also available for picks, future picks, pick upgrades: Roberto Perez Edwin Howie Kendrick Jed Lowrie Pillar Michael Chavis (probably straight up pick rather than an upgrade) Samardjiza Lyles Tomlin Buttrey Roe Suero Jose Suarez
  24. Can you resend the email he is expecting it
  25. I did. He is aware that his leash is shorter than most. 20 of his last 25 posts were basically the same bashing the front office. Offer some baseball acumen and bash away. He's allowed to comeback and wish everyone a happy new year.
