  1. well if you were monetized on youtube that would be changing. Great episode! Turns out less is more as the 3 of you worked well.
  2. I like the concept of every Sunday. Fans will get used to what is required for him to prepare (meaning if he needs Saturday off or something like that) and it should alleviate the "Pitching is hurting his hitting" bs should he struggle ... or vice versa of course.
  3. starters will probably barely be over 750 IPs this year. There will be plenty of innings for everyone, stop worrying about starter/reliever labels.
  4. I don't think anything is wrong. Not sure if the declare and not get drafted works as a high schooler going to college isn't a Free agent if they aren't drafted. It's close though. It's going to be a tough set of rules to maneuver when it finally happens.
  5. I'm very anti-union. I'm a realist, pleasing the owners is what will keep a labour stoppage from happening.
  6. IMO this is exactly what this is about. Someone has approached Bolsinger and convinced him to sue so that details can come out which would never be revealed any other way. Bolsinger has already talked about the money going to charity, which keeps him out of the cash grab discussions for the most part. He made $1.7M in Japan last year. He'd still be Arb 1 if he played in the MLB in 2018 and 2019. He's lost nothing financially. He has zero chance at winning, so there is something else about it.
  7. He says he doesn't have an invite. Send again today. Message me when sent and I'll text him right away.
  8. The non travel ones are community days so you can't get rid of those. Getting rid of the travel ones means way more weekday day games which again cost the owners. There is barely a thing Abom said which helped the owners. You have to think of both sides when making changes. And on the players side they have such a history of stupidity that you really only have to think of the owners side with an occasional bone to the players
  9. Not to get too off topic but if they ever do this what age caps? Are you still making it 16. And at what age are they free agents and don't have to go through the draft?
  10. ABOM...owners say "f*** you" to all of your proposals. Come up with something that isn't incredibly stupid and we will still hate it because we can't get past your previous stupid ideas. Thanks!
  11. values are way up. But they sold their cash cow, and for the first time ever they didn't get an increase in the TV deal. There are predictions that they will be behind eSports in viewership within 15 years...and they got passed by basketball already (the numbers are worse when you do it for males under 35). I don't understand North America's love of the huge playoffs (personally I hate seeing medicore teams benefitted) but they do. Owners love it too. So this was always in the plans. The reality show s*** is what has been talked about for a while, having a big media event where the players can be marketed. I can see them having cameras on each team. Players dressed in suits or their own clothes. True baseball fans could give a s*** who Stroman hopes to see matched up, but it's actually what's been lacking. Personally I like none of it. From a business side I understand all of it. And with the PA asking for changes to service time or the arb system...the owners are going to want something back.
  12. I have them at $15M over. Twins money is $2.5 per year for 4 years.
  13. ...and strike that f***er out.
  14. How do you value Lux then? If Jeter is a Franchise SS, Lux must be future HOF'er
  15. A little too much of a fantasy take IMO. And an overrating at that.
  16. Everyone gets a platoon in Tampa.
  17. I just feel bad that we never had a proper service for Cyborg
  18. Here is my question. Why is a 24 year old guy that is projected to be 17th best OF in baseball next year considered light return? Is it because the projections aren't to be believed? The Ceiling is low? Because the Dodgers didn't play him everyday? Unsexy? Or even the question if he is a 3 fWAR player through his 5 years in Boston is it still not enough for Mookie in your mind? I'm just intrigued here. I like Verdugo, and I think Fenway helps him but I also somehow get it. He maxes out at Starling Marte, but it's a very Rays type trade return for Chaim.
  19. 139IP 23 starts 15 Relief appearances which isn't going to happen in Minny. Graterol (and most pitchers) does not need any time manipulation.
  20. Must be nice to carry a $34M insurance piece.
  21. His issues are taking advantage of passing out drunk girls. In Boston that is still celebrated
  22. Updated Steamer projections. Maeda is now a 4.61 FIP 1.8 Win asset. Verdugo now a 3.2 fWAR 600 PA guy. I think Betts was a 6.1 projection now at 5.9. Graterol interestingly went from a 45 IP 0.1 guy to 53 IP and 0.4. Price now 155 IP and 2.9 fWAR. Gaining a full win in 5 less IP.
  23. It's the 1.5 win starter they won't be giving innings to that I'm calculating. Right now their pitching staff projects to 15 wins. I'd be surprised if this gets them over 16 when you take away innings from others. It's not a needle mover for me. As I said it mitigates risk as they will have injuries and you should know what you are getting from whoever picks up those innings. Then there is the fact that he's moving away from Dodgers Stadium. I think it's a net zero trade and probably could have got a better upgrade for Graterol. But considering they have already increased payroll by $40M this is a safe cheap option to add this depth.
  24. Reset the luxury tax. Instead of 50% penalty they will be back down to 20%. So they can just spend again next year when the penalty amount also goes up again. In fact they are probably paying a lot of Price's salary in 2021 and 2022, but not 2020.
