What we do know is that the money is there now. We can't blame ownership ever again and if AA and Beest allow the negative press that Rogers took for several years to happen again they won't be here for long. Rogers took the heat, it's now management's turn if the results aren't there. -

For those saying that we can't get anything for Bonifacio, the Cubs traded Scott Hairston and his $2.5M contract next year (with a .232 OBP) for Ivan Pineyro. While on the surface the Nats 22nd prospect doesn't seem like much return but he's a 21 year old that got off to a late start out of the DR. Throws 94 and while he doesn't have secondary stuff he can easily be a future spot starter or a middle reliever. His Velocity has improved each of the last two years and he doesn't need to get added to the 40 man for 2 more years. This is exactly the kind of deal the Jays should be looking for Bonifacio and sets the market higher for Rajai.

I think Nick and I are the only two teams who have 5 top ten teams remaining on the schedule. Everyone has at least 3 though.

The differences between the top and the bottom of the league is getting much bigger, there are the occasional upsets but the top 8 seem to keep winning (two teams in the top 8 lost both were 7-6 losses and one was a 4 vs. 5 match up)

Grabo better get a contract soon, his buyout was used up on the fireworks display at his wedding. He got married down the street from my apartment and it had to be a 20 minute nice firework display, Probably $50K worth

Nothing screams "kids don't do PED's" like adding a guy who is borderline at best who was suspended last season. AL 3B's right now over 2.5 fWAR Cabrera Longoria Machado Donaldson Seager Beltre NL 3B (counting Carpenter as a 2B) Wright Overall it's a strong crop of 3B's in baseball right now. -

I don't really think this is about Longo vs. Machado at all. How in the hell is Zobrist there over Longo? Or Edwin for that matter. JJ Hardy getting voted in throws things off for Donaldson but still he deserved it over Peralta -

Yeah I don't have any issue with this deal, I'm sure it was all on the up and up and it's fun to throw stipulations on deals to get them done but it's also in the pools best interest to make sure that a bad precedent isn't set in case we all aren't so friendly in the future.

not sure where I stand on a future considerations deal...or a rental space deal. It's only Miles Head so I don't care but what if a playoff team said rather than drop a player I'll give you Mesoraco at the deadline so I can add a guy that's going to help my roster now but in the off season I'll give you a 3rd rounder back for him. I don't mind back room deals but I think something should move in both deals. Such as I'll give you a 6th for Head. If I make room for Head I'll give you back a 3rd. Just my opinion and not picking on this deal. I think we should think about worst case scenarios before setting a precedent.

as fans we shouldn't dwell on the negative and remember the hot streak or his other great stats like HBB/S (half breed Babies/Season). Has he seriously walked just once in his last 20+ games and 3 times since May 29th?

He's got Catcher eligibility next year. I'll worry about 2015 in 2015.
