  1. I knew of it, just didn't think of it as a waiver claim, just a pick up. Waiver priority carries over from year to year in the FC. I was sitting in the 3 spot. edit. In case you don't know I'm not really that concerned about it (and the message you sent me was right about the time that my inbox was full so I deleted all messages). I don't really treat any non-cash pools all that seriously. If I did I'd drop down the numbers I play. The only one I care about is my Ottawa pool that has the $250 buy-in and charges for every move. I'm sitting 2nd in a good cashing spot in that one but have lost Fernandez, EE, Cutch and Tulo.
  2. you are a BBDL'er you should be used to losing to Boxy. PS you owe me the 15th Waiver in the FC
  3. This will match your 7-6 loss to my PL team as your season's highlight (you beating the second rate dynasty players is a win for all of us DDL'ers). You get another shot at the Jin and Juice this year so you have another shot at some real glory (plus we should meet in the playoffs there).
  4. Thanks for putting that together Moog and I know you aren't looking to predict what the team will look like, but the team you listed is likely a 75-78 win $110M team that is going to sell zero extra season tickets in the off season and have the fans raging against the ownership group.
  5. And he's a 31 year old who needs that uptick in his fastball to be an acceptable 5th starter (the swinging strike rate continues to drop despite the velo increase). I just have a hard time believing that a 32 year old is going to improve to where he's a big value win on that $6.5M he's set to earn. I think he'll likely earn that for the Jays which is why I don't mind them picking up the option...but if that FB velo drops he probably becomes replacement level. So it makes sense to pick up the option and explore a trade...or start the season with him and if he pitches well you look for a trade, if he sucks you might have to drop him to make room for Norris in June anyway. Once again I really don't think Buehrle is getting moved, nor is Dickey.
  6. It was a crazy era. His .294/.400/.489 line (with 100 RBIs) in his contract year earned him a 2 year 8M (decrease in pay) contract.
  7. He is likely what he's been this year. A true talent low 4.00-4.35 ERA guy that can provide the team with 150 innings of inconsistent pitching. The fact is that it is tough to imagine the team trading either Buehrle or Dickey so if payroll is going to stay south of $150M Happ is the one guy that is potentially replaceable with a league min guy (in house even). I still think they keep him. So much will depend on what happens with the pen though. If Casey isn't signed then I think they will consider Sanchez as the in-house option. If that happens then I think Happ is needed for depth/trade option.
  8. guy was 26, never was a top 100 prospect and never had a sub 3.00 ERA in the minors. He was exactly what they acquired.
  9. 2.05 ERA since the All Star break. Happ will be back...they probably exercised his option in the 5th last night.
  10. which is exactly what I had them at. Morrow and Santo's buyouts (as well as McGowan's which I'm not sure of). Sorry I forgot Lind. He's an increase of $7M if his option is picked up...no buyout cost. I'll add him.
  11. I'll assume you are under 25.
  12. BTS did a great job of this for 2014, I'm sure we'll get one for 2015 committed payroll right now (including buyouts) $96.2M (Reyes, Buehrle, Bautista, Dickey, EE, Izturis, Navarro) with options on (Morrow,, Lind McGowan, Happ, Thole and Santos) So assuming Thole, Lind and Happ are picked up. that's 14.75M more. Now approximate $111M Arbitration cases Francisco, Cecil, Reimold, Johnson, Valencia, Lawrie, Delabar, Hutch (if he hits Super 2 which is expected), Muni, and Mastro. Only Lawrie, Cecil and Hutch stand to make much there and chances are most of those others sign near league min if they are signed at all. Of the 10 of them I'll say 7 sign for a total of $10M (very rough estimate) Now $121 M Which means $121M for 20 of your 40 players with glaring holes in the Pen and OF. Really it's likely that Beest isn't lying they need to increase payroll just to remain the just above .500 club they are.
  13. Albert Gold's "the clown"
  14. Delmon going to match Gose here #prospectsfinallyliveuptotheirbilling
  15. hitting Melky is a bit like hitting a Marshmallow...there is no hurting him
  16. part of me thinks...why make Goins chase. grove him one and get the out
  17. when I'm working for some disabled sports organization (I'm hoping to intern with the Wheelchair Tennis Association of Canada in my 3rd year), I'll be coming to you to do some volunteering so you can get a little more respect for the disabled athletes
  18. I hope all of you bitching about Pat and Buck not speaking are afflicted with something which make you eligible for parapan games.
