  1. it's partially the baserunning too.
  2. So when it doesn't fit into what your eye sees, it should be adjusted? Trout is not doing well in the field this year according to the metrics...same with Cutch. Got to believe it's true, I don't watch their games.
  3. Do we know what Balfour's original deal with the O's was? That should be Casey's market (and probably the same result)
  4. I'd rather than Casey at 1 year $14, than 3 years $33. I'd rather not have either though.
  5. You could stop cheering for the team. Believe me it's quite easy to do, and really quite satisfying.
  6. Jackass...I barely even have a chance to improve my pick.
  7. We have some arms in the system. I wasn't big on JPR as he didn't have a great vision either. AA gets a lot of credit for his never ending scouring of the waiver wire but he doesn't seem to get ripped on nearly enough for his guys he gives up on. I'm not going to pretend that i thought Gomes, Chavez, Valbuena or even Napoli were going to be huge producers but they were all given up on for essentially non assets. The shuffling of players for replacement level guys that have no upside are pretty frustrating.
  8. Is that our Sam? a small upgrade is still an upgrade. If the asset we gave up was actually Francisco (which I don't actually believe it was) then his argument of "don't give up an asset to get a Chase Headley" doesn't work.
  9. Ducks play the Kings on November 15th and it's a Saturday game...the one day SN doesn't care about hockey
  10. I worked in Enforcement for the regulators, prior to my time in compliance and regulatory complaints for two of the major firms. Known criminals from the pump and dump era kept getting jobs, kept doing criminal activity and many are still in the industry today. Maybe your "Clean" firm hasn't hired them but many, many do. Admittedly regulators are doing a much better job at keeping those with a criminal past out of regulated roles. Those crazy f***in' unregulated areas must be full of them now though.
  11. No they don't want publicly known drug addicts and bigots on their team. I love how you have tried to get to the Rays fans with the Rayspists thing. None of us care. Friedman came from a slimy world (same one I came from and I have seen way worse hired if they can make money), he's asked to find players at the best value. I don't really care about where they came from.
  12. I'm sure they are...the value of the franchise is up. Doesn't mean that he will or can build and sustain a playoff team.
  13. doesn't that say something about your GM. Not to mention...most of what he does is for PR reasons.
  14. Time for me to startup the Hurl PR company. I have someone to groom.
  15. Putting Francisco against lefties is like putting a BBDL'er in the DDL.
  16. I know if the Jays had played say 60 games against the Central and West they'd be like 15 or so games over .500. And crazy how that 13-12 record against Texas and Houston inflated Seattle's record. #truetalent65-56team
  17. After 10 years of Dusty on the 40...it will be nice to see that spot finally free'd up.
  18. he's technically not wrong as they had many draft busts over those years...with 75 rounds back then they had about 72 a year that busted.
  19. Good on Seattle and KC (and Toronto for that matter) for contending despite their management. I'd like to add that KC has 21 homegrown players on the roster (tied for the 5th most in baseball), and their big free agent acquisitions were Omar Infante and Jason Vargas.
  20. The Yankees 1990 draft was one of the best in history led by Carl Everett (1st), Andy Pettite (22nd) and Jorge Posada (24th)...providing them with 122+ fWAR. And 1992 they got some shortstop.
  21. He was sent down because of his lack of control...he's walked 11 (to 44 Ks) in his last 62 innings. He deserved the call...and most importantly they listened to me who started to call for him to the Pen back in May. While I might not always be right, this head office could do worse than reading my posts and following suit.
  22. I've always felt the best way to appease the baseball gods was to make sound baseball decisions from the front office.
  23. Honestly TJS is a little different animal...I don't see it as big of a concern (still a concern of course...plus a huge year of development lost) as something like back or shoulder injuries.
  24. funny how drafting injured players often ends up with having an injured player.
