  1. Rays are now 2-10 in extras.
  2. Not bad. I like Anderson's power better than it's showing. Regions Field is huge (not nearly like old Regions Field but still yields few homers).
  3. he better get his ass on that. It was bad enough giving an old man like me mod status. KingKat has years on me...and a cat. We might lose the whole board some drunken night.
  4. yeah I think he's got more fantasy upside than real life. Brad Miller'esk numbers upside...minus the BB rate.
  5. Never forget Donkey Punch
  6. You are correct that he's not going to carry a team, but listening to minor league defensive reports again is a mistake. He's a left fielder and always will be, but I'm reading that he's an all out effort guy out there and should be passable. His K-rates are way down and his power wows everyone in BP. He's white Melky with more power potential.
  7. no it's just that all Asians look the same. Boxy looks identical too.
  8. Hate to get Boxy started, but Winker has homered in 5 straight games. Just had to break up the boring playoff matchup talk.
  9. I would love a third ear. Would be really helpful as the 2nd one has never worked.
  10. Thole is back is he not?
  11. and even that quote from Miller could be about anything.
  12. The man that shut down 30 messages boards in one day is on the podium. Burning towns will move you up for sure.
  13. Your relationship with BTS was your undoing.
  14. no one is comfortable with fisting at first...
  15. I think most boards are cliquish. One of the issues this forum has is that 90% came from the bluejays.com board and those that caused trouble there were not going to be welcome here. So immediately we weren't going to be "fair" to all. We've banned probably 1000 accounts in total. Unfortunately, many of the mods we have just didn't have time for it anymore. We need more mods, and hopefully the anti-mod movement stops as well. Me leaving clears up your issue with mods not being a fan of the team.
  16. Don't know how true it is but Dombrowski is said to want $8M a year and be in charge. Those two things don't fit in Toronto. I'm still not a fan of AA, but in no way should the Jays be bringing in anyone that will undermine his decisions at this point.
  17. I'm not going to argue who deserves it as most of that has been covered somewhere and if the season ended today both are solid candidates, but from a BBWAA perspective Trout leads all the hitting stats except for RBI's. Also Blue Jays supporting staff has better hitting stats than the Angels supporting staff (for those writers that view it as "Most Valuable" over "Best Player"). So Donaldson needs one of two things to happen to win: Get ahead in some more hitting stats or be a story. Right now the Jays are a story...Donaldson isn't a story around the league.
  18. To be playoff eligible you must be one of the following on August 31st: - on the 25 man major league roster, or - on the disabled list (7, 15, or 60 day DL), or - on the suspended list, or - on bereavement leave, or - on military active duty In addition, a club can replace any player who is injured at the time that playoff rosters are submitted. So, for every injured player, the club can add a player who was not on the major league roster, or any of the above eligibility lists at the end of August. In order to be eligible to be added in place of an injured player, one need not be on the 25 man roster, nor even the 40 man roster as of August 31. Any player in the organization as of August 31 can be used to replace an injured player, with permission from the commissioner’s office.
  19. Don't have the time to moderate it properly and tired of the moderation whining. Message boards are not meant to be fair. I got tired of treating everyone the same
  20. Actually I resigned
  21. this is why I never turn down an offer. I'm just never around to know the info in time to actually take advantage of it. Speaking of time, I'm back to non responsive for the next week unless I'm checking threads from the basketball.
  22. Was it me? I had a gut feel on Puig (and someone in my ear)
  23. There could be some interesting real life award races this year. AL Cy is up for grabs and should provide loads of conversation. ARod deserves comeback player of the year but with Pujols and Prince in the conversation they will have good enough choices to not pick him. NL rookie of the year has gone from a done deal to a legit race. There are a few two horse races too
