  1. volatility on relievers isn't an annual thing. How many times have we seen relievers be s*** for a month and then pitch lights out. I mean Romano's July was as bad as Hand's August. If Hand went to the Mets and pitched well...that's when I'd say "that's relievers for ya"
  2. $6,975,000 was already off his $10.5M contract. Now the Mets are paying his last $1.92M
  3. Guy was the 4th best reliever in baseball in the covid shortened 2020 season. And someone pointed out what Kimbrel's price was. Building pens is tough...trading for them is even more difficult.
  4. So you're saying that BJMB should be marketing and selling Home Run Jackets
  5. Except he was given every possible chance to succeed in the majors and did not, which kind of makes him not like Bautista at all.
  6. There was someone with your name and initial signed up.
  7. Where would that fall in the list of baseball anomalies in comparison to Joel Youngblood, who played and got hits for two different teams in the same day. He got a hit off Fergie Jenkins while playing for the Mets...got traded to the Expos. Made their night game and got a hit for the Expos.
  8. I think we lost $400M in value over 5 years in the Marlins trade. Adams has to turn into Johnny Bench to match that. Riley Adams will probably never increase his WAR total from where it is now.
  9. what my factual, in jest, post is worse than his "worst trade in Franchise history"?
  10. Riley Adams OPS with the Nationals is higher than Vladdy's now
  11. I believe the situation is. Jays win. Stangstag is winning. Jays lose and the Mod of the decade gets the tickets.
  12. Did you enter a bunch of the Fantasy Football pools?
  13. Perception would be that the bullpen is the difference. The Jays have given up 40 more runs than the Rays in the 7, 8, 9th innings. The Rays have scored 90 more runs than the Jays (and 40 more than the second best team). This comes 1 year after the Rays scored the 6th fewest in 2020. So the question is Did the Rays target players who can handle the highest velocity for late inning situations (They got rid of Tsutsugo, sent down Brosseau who are among the worst against the fastball)? For 2 seasons now the Jays have been the best offence through 6 and bottom 5 after that. Improving the bench is a no brainer for next year but should they make lateral moves to address the velocity issues? Especially if they lose a great fastball hitter like Semien. The other question is have the Rays made an approach change? I am not saying the Jays should copy everything the Rays do...but the Jays should copy everything the Rays do.
  14. The Rays have now outscored their opponents by 121 runs....in the 7th, 8th and 9th innings. That is some insane voodoo s***
  15. Play the kid they said...
  16. Situation Jays go 2 and 3 or worse - z3r0s wins Jays go 3-2 and it is yours truly Jays go 4-1 and Stangstag and Brownie go to the tiebreak Jays go 5-0 and LTBF and MikeM head to a tiebreak
  17. BDC needs to play the last 2 one under to shoot 59. He's got a 15 footer for birdie on 17
  18. I'm not sure your smile was wide enough as you typed this. Consider it a warning.
  19. When we say jump, sheep Spanky ...
  20. Get it to full 64. Only question is do we seed or pure random draw.
  21. According to Roster Resource we had the following "other" salary transactions this year. $ due for buyout of Troy Tulowitzki $4,000,000 $ paid by Blue Jays to Joe Panik (traded to MIA 6/29) $810,000 $ due for buyout of Chase Anderson $500,000 $ owed from MIL (John Axford trade) -$1 $ paid by Giants to Tyler Chatwood (contract selected 8/17 after release from TOR) -$147,226 $ paid by Mets to Jacob Barnes (traded to TOR 6/19) -$316,216 $ paid by Marlins to Adam Cimber (traded to TOR 6/29) -$405,000 $ paid by Diamondbacks to Joakim Soria (traded to TOR 7/30) -$2,270,270 $ owed from MIA (Corey Dickerson/Adam Cimber trade) -$2,650,000 $ paid by Twins to José Berríos (traded to TOR 7/30) -$3,956,757 $ paid by Marlins to Corey Dickerson (traded to TOR 6/29) -$4,159,459 $ paid by Nationals to Brad Hand (traded to TOR 7/29) -$6,754,054
  22. If they can rebuild the pen, commit 4 + Option years each to Semien and Ray and stay at the $150M payroll of this year...I think they jump at it. I'm not sure that they can though. I'm not 100% sure they believe that will be good enough. It's also of course dependent on Ray and Semien wanting to sign here. In the end I see them signing 1 of the two and exploring more value trades.
  23. I'll await the "Elvis Lives" post when they sign him to a minor league deal.
  24. Padres had different expectations and have reportedly have clubhouse issues. As long as Charlie has the team's support I think he'll be around still.
  25. 90% of card collecting is just playing slots or the lottery with about 10 percent doing it for the hobby of it.
