    volatility on relievers isn't an annual thing. How many times have we seen relievers be s*** for a month and then pitch lights out. I mean Romano's July was as bad as Hand's August. If Hand went to the Mets and pitched well...that's when I'd say "that's relievers for ya"

    Guy was the 4th best reliever in baseball in the covid shortened 2020 season. And someone pointed out what Kimbrel's price was. Building pens is tough...trading for them is even more difficult.

    Where would that fall in the list of baseball anomalies in comparison to Joel Youngblood, who played and got hits for two different teams in the same day. He got a hit off Fergie Jenkins while playing for the Mets...got traded to the Expos. Made their night game and got a hit for the Expos.

    I think we lost $400M in value over 5 years in the Marlins trade. Adams has to turn into Johnny Bench to match that. Riley Adams will probably never increase his WAR total from where it is now.

    I believe the situation is. Jays win. Stangstag is winning. Jays lose and the Mod of the decade gets the tickets.

    Perception would be that the bullpen is the difference. The Jays have given up 40 more runs than the Rays in the 7, 8, 9th innings. The Rays have scored 90 more runs than the Jays (and 40 more than the second best team). This comes 1 year after the Rays scored the 6th fewest in 2020. So the question is Did the Rays target players who can handle the highest velocity for late inning situations (They got rid of Tsutsugo, sent down Brosseau who are among the worst against the fastball)? For 2 seasons now the Jays have been the best offence through 6 and bottom 5 after that. Improving the bench is a no brainer for next year but should they make lateral moves to address the velocity issues? Especially if they lose a great fastball hitter like Semien. The other question is have the Rays made an approach change? I am not saying the Jays should copy everything the Rays do...but the Jays should copy everything the Rays do.

    If they can rebuild the pen, commit 4 + Option years each to Semien and Ray and stay at the $150M payroll of this year...I think they jump at it. I'm not sure that they can though. I'm not 100% sure they believe that will be good enough. It's also of course dependent on Ray and Semien wanting to sign here. In the end I see them signing 1 of the two and exploring more value trades.

    Padres had different expectations and have reportedly have clubhouse issues. As long as Charlie has the team's support I think he'll be around still.

    90% of card collecting is just playing slots or the lottery with about 10 percent doing it for the hobby of it.
