  1. I had him there too. If he didn't come from Auburn (via Brooklyn) I might have kept him there. For sure he's in my 16 to 20 range
  2. Butler peak had him at 73, 60, 63 and 63 xbh. Including a 29 HR season. I'd say that is okay power. How about we just leave comps out of it and say. I believe that Tellez is not very athletic and if he changes his swing to gain the additional power the K-rates will increase too much. I think he appears to be a pretty good contact hitter who will have to overcome some obstacles to become an impact guy.
  3. Spanky backing the cripple on drugs...hmmm.
  4. I fully admitted that my opinion on Tellez could change if he improved his athleticism. As for not needing running speed or defense at 1B...please see the Billy Butler discussion. This is a guy that has been a 115 wRC+ over a 6000 PA career and the baserunning and Defense has brought his career WAR down to half of what Lyle Freakin' Overbay put up. Who told you that? I'd say that anyone who has the range to play 3B can become a solid 1B. I think that was generally the opinion here. I think the biggest question about Vladdy Jr. is that they think he will outgrow 3B. People often somehow interpret that as bad. It's incorrect.
  5. You do know that Tellez's biggest strength is that he hits the ball to all fields and has good opposite field power? Honestly I'd think it would be great if he became a Billy Butler hitter. I'd say that is his upside. PS. you have an odd interpretation of slap hitter
  6. I have 35 minutes to get us a sponsor. I'll see what I can do.
  7. yeah the 120 - 140 wRC+ guy wouldn't be bad as I can't see Tellez being that bad on the basepaths...I mean Billy Butler is about to pass Paul Konerko as the worst career baserunning stats in history.
  8. Osuna is certainly one I was wrong on and have (as I always do) admitted that. We can leave it as I'm not high on Tellez. Improving his conditioning, and continuing to hit at AAA could change that. I just don't think the Jays are going to hand him a spot, he's not that kind of guy at this point. It's just my opinion on the guy (type of guy, really as I've only seen him play a handful of times). I mean if you are going to hype Tellez as "impact" than the Phillies should be absolutely jerking off to his fellow Sacramentonian Rhys Hoskins, who hit 38 in AA this year (is 2 years older though)...and he's not a guy I'd be hyping either. I won't even get into Dylan Cozens. I will say that Tellez has a chance to be an impact guy and I ranked him 6th for that reason. I wouldn't bet on him that's all.
  9. Butler as a 20 year old in AA .331/.388/.499 with 15 HR's and 49 xbh...and struck out at a 12% rate. He is probably a very good comp.
  10. I think we pretty much see a guy like him every year. Some do okay...some become Mike Carp, Christian Walker, Bryce Brentz, Matt Davidson, Jon Singleton...etc. Honestly because of his body type, lack of defensive value and lack of speed he's still got to hit more just to get his chance IMO. Keep in mind I have a bad body bias, I fully admit that. I've been wrong on guys like him before.
  11. If you consider a Mitch Moreland without the defense "impact" I'll give you that one.
  12. After going through the list closely and the addition of Lourdes I will give that the Jays farm has some potential. Certainly not top 5 and lacking the impact bat who is close (I'd give up a pile of the Jays spects for a Benintendi), but in the 8 to 15 range. Plus I'm noticing that there are a few stacked farms...and many lacking.
  13. I tried not to include defense as much this year as I really didn't watch many games and reports on minor league defense are so horrible so I didn't bother (thus the Reese McGuire omission).
  14. no I still took age to level into consideration and noted in my comments to King that this is how much I believe in Vlad by putting him number 1. I did put Lourdes number 2. It's more that I punished the guys that have issues that I think will keep them from being productive in the majors, or keep them from ever getting there. Alford's K's, Greene's lack of control/command. Moved SRF high based on the fact that he has closer stuff if he fails as a SP (if Osuna ever got hurt I'd speed up that process). I moved Boroucki up ahead of Greene as he is a deception lefty who was healthy for the first time since high school. I did leave both the catchers off even though I like Reese.
  15. I didn't look as much at upside this time...more how I honestly think it will end up (likeliness to make the majors and then judge contribution).
  16. about the same as it takes for a bowel movement.
  17. It's a solid call. They are building the team around power and pitching once again. I was thinking about my Bold Prediction for the year and I had the A's leading the AL in Starters ERA as one prediction. I like the depth they are building and it wouldn't surprise me if they are a 2018 contender.
  18. I'm still playing with my list but currently three of those are not in my top 5
  19. One more change...this time in NOLA
  20. Is Casey Lawrence on the 40 man an error on the team site or did they add him? He's thrown 480 innings over AA and AAA in the last 3 years but the numbers are far from exciting. You'd think that a non-roster invite would be good enough for him though.
  21. give me another day.
  22. Madson money seems fair
  23. FFS Dogg you forget that he was the best reliever in all of baseball in the 2nd half of 2015. You are talking about a 9.1 inning sample.
  24. yeah did that with my wife and she still bitched about "how boring baseball is" through my first Wrigley trip. I've been twice since my divorce and usually spend one game drinking with the boys and one game a little more low key. It's no different than all my Vegas trips. People make the trip...and I usually don't like people when I'm sober.
  25. OBA Elite has a cap which is lower than that (but is new and hasn't had success yet). Elite ball has become almost as stupid as hockey, if you are on OBJ's 3rd team...you are not elite and just spent $15K because you want to live vicariously through your kid.
