  1. Slider is not any of our traditional trolls if that is anyone's worry
  2. I honestly doubt it's financial though. Making the playoffs would be way more profitable than the long term cost. You know the Rays probably have their systems which says what is best for long term development, nothing gets them away from their systems. Would be interesting to talk to a certain someone about this one.
  3. people jumped to the conclusion that is what the suspension is over purely because he retweeted a bunch of MLB Debuts and a "Please wait for call up" sign from an Airport. I honestly believe the Rays missed out on calling him up when Odorizzi got hurt but he's also only 22 and gets hit hard often. It's not like they have a history of waiting for September to make a call up (Archer was initially a June call up for 2 games before making an August start, Cobb I know was June as well). I would take a guess that they don't believe the difference that he'll make right now is enough.
  4. off season prediction. Rays are obsessed with Russell
  5. Honeywell for Addison Russell and Jose Albertos
  6. That was Morales best shot now...just chop one against the shift
  7. but he's 1 for 1 with a HR. Jays can't lose
  8. Koehler gives us two innings before his DFA tonight?
  9. Goins may have made the play of the game by going home with the bases loaded
  10. I can't believe the O's are going to end up making the playoffs.
  11. Seems like Pillar makes these on Stro starts more often.
  12. shouldn't it have been instinct to go home as soon as he caught it?
  13. You'd never ask a pitcher to throw a pitch that they haven't thrown since High School or college...but ask big leaguers to bunt. Just stop working on it and take it out of your teams repertoire. I see it as Lopez has a 29% chance of doing something positive (hit or walk)...what are the chances he does something negative (double play or out not advancing the runner) it better be significantly higher than the odds of him making a successful sacrifice. Bunting is really f***ing hard
  14. That is so f***ing close...but 95% of umps are calling that foul just based on where it ended up bouncing.
  15. There is zero chance you get a triple play by letting that drop...unless Lopez fell, died or just decided to walk back to the dugout.
  16. For the record Clayton Keyes is not 6'8" as they said. Ben Abram is the u18 player that is 6'8".
  17. Ichiro has to be in...no way they are going to let the all time hits leader not be in the Hall. Other notes, if the process doesn't change a guy like Votto will be hurt by the fact that he's a social f*** up and doesn't give interviews. I do assume the steak and hooker vote crowd will eventually be phased out (although I do believe that the BBWAA f***ing things up is great for baseball in their eyes). Beltran is another who isn't exactly loved by the media (or fans). Pedroia and Cano are basically the same age, similar enough WAR, but Pedroia has about 1200 less PA's but Pedroia has the accolades (MVP, two extra GG's, ROY) behind him. If they finished their career the same way (and it would have be well for both) I could see Pedroia having way more momentum. Of course if you compare them by bWAR (which could be considered a little more matching to traditional values) Cano has him 65 to 52. Longoria is interesting. He's liked, he's the face of a franchise. 50 WAR thru age 31. He's ahead of where many HOF'ers were at age 31. Lastly do think if we did this in 2014 any of us would have thought that King Felix and his 47 fWAR through age 27 would be ignored just three years later.
  18. I hate that anyone thinks this way. Maris was on so much s*** (and a heavy smoker which he should get bonus points for hitting 61 while not being able to breathe). The record is 73 by the greatest hitter ever
  19. There probably aren't a lot of guys in the Non playoff guys that take as much pride in a week 20 win as I feel. I still like your chances though with the way the matchups are sitting.
  20. welcome aboard Org! PS. we don't use Yahoo for chat
  21. I'd rather see him getting starts than Koehler, Anderson, Bolsinger, Biagini or even Sanchez. He's thrown 144 innings but that's only a small increase from last year. Chances are it's just in the pen we'll see him though...or they will just shut him down and not even call him up.
  22. I'm refusing to take today's loss on my GDT record
