Ichiro has to be in...no way they are going to let the all time hits leader not be in the Hall.
Other notes, if the process doesn't change a guy like Votto will be hurt by the fact that he's a social f*** up and doesn't give interviews. I do assume the steak and hooker vote crowd will eventually be phased out (although I do believe that the BBWAA f***ing things up is great for baseball in their eyes). Beltran is another who isn't exactly loved by the media (or fans).
Pedroia and Cano are basically the same age, similar enough WAR, but Pedroia has about 1200 less PA's but Pedroia has the accolades (MVP, two extra GG's, ROY) behind him. If they finished their career the same way (and it would have be well for both) I could see Pedroia having way more momentum. Of course if you compare them by bWAR (which could be considered a little more matching to traditional values) Cano has him 65 to 52.
Longoria is interesting. He's liked, he's the face of a franchise. 50 WAR thru age 31. He's ahead of where many HOF'ers were at age 31.
Lastly do think if we did this in 2014 any of us would have thought that King Felix and his 47 fWAR through age 27 would be ignored just three years later.
