Whoever was on MLB radio at 5:30 today (someone who managed against him and with him in the minors) was raving about how smart Gibby actually is. Saying that how his demeanor works in the bigs because those that know him actually respect his smarts...but still most that don't know him think he's got to be an idiot. -

I wouldn't be too sure. Signing pitchers a year or two before your competitive window has been somewhat effective for other teams. You don't want to come into the time to compete and be forced to build an entire staff. So much depends on the trade and FA markets this off-season but I can see them adding a legit starter this year. -
It doesn't bother me that Law called the farm not top ten. It's not something you can ever prove right or wrong. But the ******** he says about how to run a front office knowing that he'll never be in one again and knowing the real reason things are getting done (and that he in the same situation would do them exactly the same way). "It's just money" "these Front offices are just lying". A GM's job is to work efficiently for the ownership...and with the lawsuits that are going on, you cannot say "we are just keeping this player down to manipulate service time". Take your fight to the PA and the next CBA if you feel so strongly. Not at the F.O's who are doing their job proper. The little grunts, groans and giggles responses from the radio announcers were the most annoying thing in the whole clip.
