  1. The D-Rays were BAD for a LONG TIME. So were the Orioles. That's what has made the recent stretch so painful for Jays fans. The two doormats even we got to make fun of passed us by.
  2. All of their articles are needlessly detailed and it gives me hemorrhages. Overfitting and obfuscation everywhere. Three paragraphs from a recent article on Dioner Navarro. Here is what they should have written: "Dioner Navarro has been a back-up catcher in recent seasons; this is his first year as a regular since 2009. The pitchers he has caught are off to hot starts, however it'd be irresponsible to attribute that to Navarro. Catchers have a limited ability to impact pitchers outside of framing, and Navarro is a below-average framer. He may not be a great hitter either, but Blue Jays fans are just happy he's not JP Arencibia."
  3. No, Caper says they're not allowed back on the bandwagon. They committed fan treason.
  4. Yep, I don't think he gets drafted. I wouldn't draft any of the prospects that have been dropped so far. ---- Danny Duffy for a top 25 pick, anyone? I could trade elite holds guy Adam Ottavino for a pick upgrade too.
  5. You won't get to. If they're wrong, they'll just sweep it under the rug by saying "our source was wrong, what are you going to do." Because they're not a reputable publication they have no reason to have journalistic integrity. Reporting everything they hear it good for their website since it gets clicks and they're bound to be right every once in a while.
  6. Who else do they have? Nobody. Butler is their best option as cleanup. wRC+ of Royals qualified hitters: 112, 98, 88, 86, 81, 67. It's a BAD scene. The problem isn't lineup construction, it's gross ineptitude.
  7. Want to do a two-for-one (60, 61 for 29)? You could probably cut/promote a couple guys. It's amusing to me how focused I was on assembling picks in the second half of last season and the offseason. Now they go for absolutely nothing (and rightfully so in most cases). I'll have to adjust my strategy for next year. I do like my plan of making 9+ picks though.
  8. Anyone need picks or want to do a two-for-two (I provide the middle two picks of the four and get the top and bottom ones)? I'm open for business.
  9. Stop enabling those guys. They're not journalists, we have no idea how good the sourcing is. And nobody knows anything at this point anyway. --- I think I'm going to post in here more. I'm in full draft mode now.
  10. Look at what happened to the Royals! They had the best farm system ever and totally blew it. And not all of that can be attributed to GMDM's incompetence. The NBA is indeed a joke because of their tanking situation. More than half the games that are played in that league are utterly meaningless. An incredibly inefficient system. Indifference towards winning is the root of all evil in sports leagues. It's a big reason why the NFL is king: Every. Game. Matters. If you as a coach or team official oversee consecutive losing seasons, you no longer have a job. Some teams have an off year and will happily take that top pick, sure. But no team undergoes a multi-year rebuilding process.
  11. Strasburg seems to get underrated almost as much as Machado gets overrated. He has a 2.60 xFIP this year with obscene PD stats. He's really really good. Yet because he's not Sandy Koufax, people see him as a bust.
  12. Probably the first time that Justin Upton didn't get picked. Doug Glanville (Perez) took Wilson Ramos in 2011 and Wieters in 2012. What are you doing, man. Sure, catchers are important, but so are superstars.
  13. I think you're looking at last years? lol. That was a pretty bad draft too though. Here's this year's: http://espn.go.com/mlb/story/_/page/franchise140602/espn-franchise-player-draft
  14. It makes sense for them, sure, but it's wrong. The other 29 teams are subsidizing one team's rebuilding plan and being forced to accept a diluted product in the process. The Twins are rebuilding the right way. They're not going to have a 100 loss season and have continued to make a good-faith effort to improve the Major League team. They're not making a mockery of the sport yet are getting the future pieces they're going to need to get back to the top.
  15. Why do you like the way they're doing it? It's bad for baseball. The Astros are a drain on the sport. Institutionalized mooching.
  16. Drew Fairservice of theScore tweeted a comparison similar to this (I added Lawrie), makes you think: http://www.fangraphs.com/leaders.aspx?pos=3b&stats=bat&lg=all&qual=0&type=1&season=2014&month=10&season1=2014&ind=0&team=0&rost=0&age=0&filter=&players=11493,4892,5247 All of those doubles Manny Machado hit in the first half of last year seems to cloud the public perception of him. Mike Moustakas is an unmitigated disaster, and yet... Machado's yet to prove that he's a good MLB hitter. Similar to Lawrie (to a more extreme extent) though, the defensive ability depresses the urgency for offensive contributions.
  17. I anticipate that I'll regret trading Singleton. He could turn into a pretty studly asset in short order. Good luck with him. I think I'll try to keep the next close-to-MLB hitting prospect that I stumble upon. Need to re-load with some youth.
  18. At least we have intra-divisional games to be thankful for. Red Sox play the Orioles next week. It's harder than it seems to gain ground in the standings.
  19. That sounds pretty cool. I wish I could do Grade 9 stuff.
  20. I could post a question or something lol. What subjects are your projects in? Geography?
  21. I'll do your projects if you do my assignment
  22. What'd you think about my pick? I didn't even get a thanks
  23. Is that the status for High85/jaysfan2014 too? He's been okay lately. -- Wasn't Wilnercibia the same guy as Metallijay? Doesn't matter but that's how I remember it. He called into JaysTalk after that extra-innings loss against the Padres.
  24. I'm not tough lol. My offense doesn't hit for any power. Although I am going to squeak by SpeedyGose this week on pitching and steals. I can beat your pitching.
