  1. Delabar does kind of suck now. ZiPS says he's below replacement-level going forward.
  2. Are we allowed to draft draft-eligible prospects that go undrafted in the Rule 4 (i.e. the next Brandon Beachy)? The rules fall a little short of addressing that situation.
  3. Really lucky bastards! There was some kind of magic at work during that win streak.
  4. Brandon Moss! The A's are so freaking good. ---- Also, Jonathan Singleton has gone deep in his debut.
  5. Boxy took him in the waiver draft! He was one of the few waiver guys worth caring about (pitched in AA last year, so was eligible).
  6. The commenter thinks that freshman college players are eligible for the draft.
  7. Daniel Webb was the second piece of the Jason Frasor trade lol. He throws hard, but that's about it.
  8. Off one of 2014's breakout pitchers, no less. TJ House has really shut down the Red Sox lineup outside of Bogaerts.
  9. Yep, involving was Kendrick and a lot of other moving pieces. Didn't get much traction.
  10. Re: negotiations, you approaching me created a confusing situation, but it worked itself out. No ******** on the scouting report. I made sure to have Duffy included in that November five-team deal! I do like him. I floated a blockbuster idea involving Kendrick near the end of last season and into the offseason.
  11. I don't know if NJH was going to be the end recipient. You approached me with what I had asked for so I had to tell you what was up lol. --- Duffy's a 25-year-old four-pitch lefty up to 97 with a repeatable delivery. I would've liked to keep him long-term, but I also wanted a top 25 pick to play around with and he was expendable with my SP depth. It was just Duffy for the #25 pick. Spanky had picks to burn with a nearly-full farm and I was shopping for a second rounder.
  12. It's not, I just like the term "market inefficiency." I like to think I'm Billy Beane. If one or two picks get dissolved, okay. The last-rounders were acquired as throw-ins to already-acceptable trades. I won't lose sleep over it. I may have a few tricks up my sleeve though. Cut-down isn't until Saturday!
  13. There's a limit on prospects (12) but none on picks... makes sense to get all the picks. It's a market inefficiency. Matt Barnes is available for an upgrade into the first round. Arcia and Cuthbert too for marginal upgrades.
  14. Spank, you can offer me a trade with Duffy and the guy you would drop (anyone on your roster).
  15. Meh, I wasn't going to start Duffy so early in the week. It's not like I agonized over the decision. He did look good though. --- I traded Duffy to Spanky for pick #25, giving me 13 draft picks. --- Anyone want Cheslor Cuthbert? I'd flip him for any upgrade of twelve picks or better. Big tools.
  16. Since the start of 2010 (his first season), Santos has been better than Janssen by SIERA (2.80 to 2.84). They're exactly tied in xFIP (3.18) and xFIP- (78). Santos is really good, we need him.
  17. They're just jealous! If the Jays win the World Series, the euphoria won't be dampened by people on message boards thinking they won because of drugs. I wouldn't worry about that.
  18. You really care what a few people on reddit think? Anyone with a modicum of intelligence won't make the Dominicans = steroids connection.
  19. Jose became a pronounced fly-ball hitter with a good HR/FB, Edwin started walking a lot more, striking out slightly less and hitting for an above-average HR/FB. Neither has ever struck out at the rate that Francisco does. Francisco may be experiencing a plate discipline transformation like that of Edwin, but his swing has too many holes in it for him to transform into a true Jose/Edwin type stud.
  20. Line drive rate doesn't really tell you much. It doesn't correlate well with meaningful offensive statistics and it takes a while to stabilize. Francisco does tend to make hard contact, but I'd characterize that as power. His contact rate of 68.2% is pretty low.
  21. Francisco's obviously not the player he's been so far. 30% HR/FB, too many strikeouts to keep the average afloat. But he can be a very useful piece (above-average bat vs. righties) even after regressing.
  22. Oh I don't mind. It's a joke that posting B/R gets you banned. Gsnarls has done it enough to put the notion to rest. I don't understand how the Jays can get a C+, they're leading their division by four games and have a 65% chance at the playoffs... what more can be expected of them? The Giants have the best record in baseball and they don't even get an A lol.
  23. It's a second-year math course.
  24. Can't say I'd want to hear what those guys have to say lol. I do like Keri though.
  25. Wrong link, you mean this: http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2082296-grading-every-mlb-team-through-the-first-2-months-of-the-season/page/30 But... Ban. B/R is not welcome on this board.
