  1. Yep: http://www.perfectgame.org/players/playerprofile.aspx?ID=346593. Iowa commit. Red Sox could do it as a publicity stunt.
  2. His High School is named after him. That's probably a good thing. Yes. They have to since really only the kids' families are watching at this point. They will never say "Hmm... this guy profiles as org filler. What was that team thinking." Every player has two or three good attributes and they always highlight them.
  3. Are they? Bautista's is basically a spam account lol. I wonder if this Matt Morgan is a draft prospect too.
  4. Some guy working for Bautista's agency handles both his and Ervin Santana's accounts; it's not really him.
  5. MLB.com says good stuff about every player! lol. Callis and Mayo know a lot, but at this point they know much, much less than each team does.
  6. From Alabama too... lol at all you guys following this guy just because Harvey tweeted at him, the only thing similar is the name. Edit: haha this guy is playing along.
  7. Nick Wells is a prospect that Jonn would like. Uses 'of' as a verb.
  8. I don't love Ross. The K/BB and OBPA are mediocre and he's an injury risk. Prefer Kendrick.
  9. No, it was the 11th. Three days after the draft though. There is something very very strange going on here.
  10. I found some proof that neither King nor I were behind the crazy Kalfus fan: He commented with Kalfus stuff to a blog (http://www.bluejaysfromaway.com/toronto-blue-jays-2013-mlb-draft-report-rd-21-30/) a day after Kalfus' draft, June 11, 2013. King, GD and I didn't even start the Kalfus hysteria and accompanying thread until July 18th! He clearly existed before we had any knowledge of Kalfus or his accomplishments.
  11. Red Sox fans are getting sick of Farrell Ball http://sonsofsamhorn.net/topic/83740-farrell-and-the-bunting-strategy/
  12. They have chosen that lifestyle though, nobody's forcing them. I'd love to be an orgfiller for a few years after graduating. Then when I wash out I'd get a real job.
  13. Happ's xFIP on the season down to 4.33. That's good enough to keep running him out there.
  14. Nice to see Beltre get going. His numbers are finally where they should be. We're still slugging .408 on the season as a team though. 1st in OBP, 12th in SLG.
  15. They're probably just clouding the situation to keep people from thinking it's a Super Two thing. He should be up in the next week.
  16. The Tigers have a 103 wRC+ as a team, nothing to be afraid of! But Porcello is a front-line pitcher. Career 94 xFIP-, 81 last year.
  17. Thus ending my year-long attempt to acquire Polanco He's going to be really good.
  18. John Hattig is the only player in history from Guam! I'm surprised he didn't bounce around in the minors for a few years after his cup of coffee. We had a lot of dead-end players from 2004-2009. Reminiscing about them is amusing.
  19. Flags Fly Forever! The AL East will be good again next year and we won't have any money to spend to improve in the offseason anyways, so why not go for it. I understand (and agree with) your perspective on self-imposed windows, but we're already too far down that road to change course. Let's win.
  20. Loup's peripherals were always healthy though, I don't think anyone was actually worried about him. Already at 0.7 WAR. Delabar isn't striking many guys out, he's walking everyone, and he doesn't get any ground balls... it's a 125 xFIP-. That's backed up by his fastball being down a mile and a half and his SwStr% being down 3.2 percentage points. He still throws hard and with two strikes the splitter can be a put-away pitch, but I'm not just going to assume regression will fix Delabar. There are real strikes against him.
  21. Tied in run-differential with Anaheim too at +25, third-best in AL. We're going to really need Texas and Seattle to keep Anaheim from running away with a WC spot.
