  1. That wasn't really the question though. The question was which player you believe the Blue Jays will regret trading this year. If the Blue Jays will regret trading Lawrie and Barreto, they will regret acquiring Donaldson.
  2. What do people think about Trout's flaw (the high fastball)? I don't know how to think about it. He can't really hit the pitch at all and pitchers have clued into that yet he still managed to be superlatively productive last season. It was talked about a lot in August/September and Jeff Sullivan wrote a good piece about it last week: http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/the-nature-of-mike-trouts-problem/
  3. Min has seven pitchers who made 30+ starts last year. Now that's impressive.
  4. I think NJH was talking about Iglesias. Moncada would definitely be worth it too though. The kid is supremely talented.
  5. Noah Syndergaard. We have Donaldson... as long as he performs (which I expect him to), there won't be any reason to miss Lawrie or Barreto.
  6. I thought the big piece back was Burch?
  7. What Minor League Central has is good but yeah only four seasons is a critical limitation. Thanks though. I'll probably try using the Baseball Prospectus custom reports. They have a CSV download button which is nice.
  8. Santana has $2.05MM in incentives and $2MM in roster bonuses. So, sure, 2.05 + 2 + 2 is in the 6-8 range (it is 6.05). But the Blue Jays haven't "just spent 6-8 mil on two minor league deals." The contracts are not guaranteed. Suggesting that minor league deals are hard on the budget is completely ridiculous. Signing Santana and Viciedo carries basically zero financial commitment.
  9. I may have pulled a CatsAss then. Thought I sent it through Yahoo.
  10. Does anyone know a good way to download/compile comprehensive minor league statlines for the past ~20 years? BRef and other places don't seem to have comprehensive tables. Edit: Using BP's custom reports could work although it would take a while.
  11. How much time does it take to manage? I'm interested by what I've read so far.
  12. Did not expect to get sniped this late in the draft. Evan Marshall is so good. Took Chris Hatcher. Will email KingKat.
  13. This tweet provides no information whatsoever lol
  14. I'm trying to get the Diamondbacks #5 starter with both Webster and Delgado. I think one could take the job and break out.
  15. lol I see what you mean. That would be tragic. If Viciedo gets 300 before Saunders is re-injured, you win.
  16. What do you mean? We can move to the wagers thread.
  17. So how about O/U 299.5, no action if Saunders misses 25+ games with injury.
  18. Oh, you wanted Viciedo not getting hurt. I wouldn't agree to not changing organizations. I think he could get DFA'd and claimed after performing poorly.
  19. I would be amicable to that. We'd need language on 'barring injury.' How about 'neither Saunders nor Pompey spend 30 days on the DL.'
  20. Yes, because Saunders will be back. And I don't think we had markedly better options than Viciedo for the first couple weeks of April.
  21. It's a minor league deal. I'm fine with this.
  22. Rafael Furcal! Don't know if he's healthy though.
  23. Took Allen Webster. Can't email the next person.
  24. You're right. Interesting.
