you have to remember that Edwin was going to be out 6 weeks to 3 months with his bruised thumb. he missed a couple ST games and that's all. AA is just guessing. he has never played and has no idea what injuries you can play through or what kinds are career ending.

afraid so... they have done it most of the year. start backing up and watching the clock with a lead. hard to win letting the other team move forward. I have never understood changing from the style of play that got you a lead. yes, boston pushed forward, but when the leafs pushed back they had them 5 on 5 until they started clock watching.

from an org perspective AA needs to draft more guys that are closer to being ready this year. there isn't much on the horizon and they have a lot of old guys who the jays will have to move.

leafs have played scared with the lead all year. they were in trouble once the lead went to 3.

drafting high upside HS kids doesn't really help if the org cant get them to the bigs. something is flawed in the jays farm system.

it was a horrible play in the first, but he has made up for it.

AA still looking at body type and not stats.

the Tampa building model is based on being one of the absolute worst teams in baseball for years. Jays are never bad enough to get the top picks. I think they need to have a mix of HS and college drafts. College guys are so much more developed and take less work to get major league ready. HS kids are always a huge gamble. College kids are maybe 2+ years and HS kids can be 5 years of guessing. not many 6'2," 160lbs, 17 yr old kids, who throws 80mph, develop into MLB players. it's a crap shoot. but if you take as college guy who's throwing 90+ and facing quality hitters, you have a much better chance.... not sure why teams wet themselves over prospects who are 6 years from MAYBE being useful.

then what the hell is the system doing to screw up their talent??? it's been a while since they developed a top prospect.

simplify tings... say that they have to gain 1 game in first every week for 10 weeks. that puts them at the top in just over 2 months. that is doable and still within reach. it doesnt sound daunting, but instead is a simply goal that is clearly possible,

Mottola is saying all the right things. Lind is night and day more patient. Melky has worked through things and is getting better. JPA just needs to lay off the pitches that are 6 inches off the plate and TAKE THE f***ING WALK BOZO!!.. Jose's eye is getting better. with him, the base on balls come first as he starts seeing the ball, then he hits bombs in bunches. Ed started swinging at everything. then he said straight out that he knew it was happening and it was gonna change. he did change, but now he's fallen back in the pattern or hacking. yesterday was the fisrt day that Boni has actually shown up. it was nice to see, would be great if he can continue. most of all the problem is not mechanical. it's the hitters mind set when they get into the box. I think they need a hitting shrink and a very specific plan for every game. it's hard to have a team plan when the team is all over the place with problems. that is not the case cany longer. many of them are getting close and now it's time to go up with a plan of attack that doesn't consist of smacking the first pitch they say every AB..... things are getting better, slowly but surely.
