  1. They walked JD because the batter after was the spot that Travis now occupies but they wouldn't have been able to walk him if Edwin was still in the game
  2. hey the first one was only about 4 inches off the plate this time

That goes both ways. Al Jefferson would look pretty decent and he got the same as Ross. Just off the top of my head Blatt is a decent coach. Again, not trying to vilify Masai.
  4. generally you are supposed to message the party of the player you are interested in

I don't particularly give a s***. I still want one. That is and always will be the goal.

That's probably more because people hate Vince.

I'd like to make it clear that I'm not saying Masai is dumb or a net-negative. He's just not a GM that will win us a championship, I don't think. Also, Al Jefferson just got what Ross got.

I don't wanna give a guy too much credit for making an extension who's only good feature is that it's movable. And there's no way he's moving Demar ever which you know.

You forgot the Val extension which looks great. Counter: Ross way overpaid on an extension Weirdly long leash on Casey Cojo also has an opt out next year doesn't he? Demar max (completely egregious) Drafting hasn't been great (Poeltl looks fine at least) None of those things are moves that point to a smart, extremely high-level GM. He seems like maybe a slightly above average GM with some good ideas that are dragged down by some very bad ones. This is so painful for me. I really really want to see this team go far, but they need to get better to go further, and they're going to have a lot of trouble doing that. They're going to have to max Kyle too, and that's going to be about half our cap tied up in two players, one of which shouldn't be getting anywhere near that. I really want to see this team succeed but this isn't the way to do it.
  10. We don't veto trades here. It was facetious. Profar has good value and I'm happy to trade for him if we find a fit that helps my team, but that's difficult cause I'm definitely not playing him at short so there isn't a ton of point. If I didn't have Machado I would have countered your trade.
  11. It was a good offer. But I wasn't interested in dealing the guy you wanted anymore (which in all fairness you might not have realized), I didn't have a need for the center piece (should probably have realized in a deal like that), nor did I approach you, so your claim that we were all blowing smoke or whatever is kinda BS.

So we can agree that Masai isn't smart at this point, right? Time to do the thing I did with Leafs/Nonis. I love this team but this is going to be too painful to watch. Maybe I'll tune into some Magic games.
  13. Does gather really make that big a difference?

  15. It's not like I was particularly interested either with Manny Machado being a thing. nor did I approach him
  16. His mechanics look good from what I remember. I can't go back to an archived game on MLB.tv to check (is MLB.com not working for you guys too?), but he's still getting good rotation and I don't think they changed his arm slot from what I remember. I do vaguely remember him being different though I see what you mean.
  17. The dangers of copy/pasting from reddit
  18. So you proposed Yunel Escobar as the centerpiece in a deal for a top 50 player
