I mean, I'm a proponent of just buying the best Dave Duncan style guys you can since I'm pretty sure there was an article showing the actual effect of pitching coaches and s*** (and also player development is a thing) but it's not like Walker is the atrocious liability some people are making him out to be. It's just scapegoating. Shame is he'll probably be gone too. -

Hutch's xFIP- is 100. Last year it was 101. He's striking out a few less batters (8.97 / 8.08), walking nearly the same (2.92 / 2.98) and he's bumped his GB rate way up (36.1% / 42.5%). 3.96 SIERA. He's not a front line guy right now but imho there's no real reason to be worrying about him. .341 BABIP / 61.7% LOB% / 11.4 HR/FB%, etc. He's our best starter right now by half a win, half a run of xFIP, nearly a full run of SIERA, etc.
