The comp pick is valuable but I guessed on Boyd so who knows gimme a dollar figure Garcia is not healthy. CMart has the most market value but the least value to them.

Why? Bruce is a legitimately good outfielder. Pompey isn't a sure thing. Cingrani isn't even a good reliever. 118 xFIP-.

Jaime Garcia won't get them anything. Too scary. Wainwright and Lynn probably don't have as much raw value as CarMart either. Really good + really young + really controllable = really valuable.

When you consider our place on the win curve (PLEASE JUST LET US WIN FOR ONCE is basically our position), the value we're getting is probably more like $65m or something. Not to say we're ripping off Cincinnati, that's not how it works, they have their own $/WAR figure. So yeah I'd really like to do that deal, tbh.

You can't get 11 K/9, 3 BB/9, 13.6% Whiff rate and a 3.25 SIERA (3.4 projected ERA) out of our young guns. He's still a durable ace. People who love Buehrle will love Shields more.

Yup exactly what I meant. So that sample is about 45% of a useful sample. 65% luck. Just something mildly encouraging to not make me want to kill myself before the first game of the year, then!
