  1. Meh, probably thinking he wants to see how Lauer fares against Ohtani
  2. Great bounceback inning. 2 runs over 4 innings isn't terrible, especially with not so great command. Interesting to see if he goes one more.
  3. Small victory running up the pitch count. Make him work like that every inning.
  4. Seeing Cito reminds me how old I've gotten since the early 90's. Absolute legend and was great to see him.
  5. Booing a Japanese player on Canadian soil during the United States national anthem
  6. Lol at the announcer rushing through the last 10 or so names
  7. Was thinking we needed a big moment and WE GOT IT!!!!!
  8. Doesn't matter how we got here, but pushing the series to game 7 AT HOME after dropping the first two games is quite the accomplishment. Let's leave that negativity behind and focus on having a solid, offensively dominant and defensively sharp game 7! Jays have been the better team for most of this series and deserve this WS berth. Let's gooooooooooooo!!!
  9. Gotta find a way to close this out and win tomorrow. Pour some champagne on that f***ing knee.
  10. Exactly. If the Jays win this game and manage to make it to the World Series, overcoming the adversity of blowing game 5 might have a positive ripple effect that wouldn't otherwise be there. Schneider playing 4d chess, lol.
  11. Would really hate to have this magical season end with such a questionable decision. Let's hold out hope for a resurgent Sunday and Monday night!!
  12. It sucks they lost on a questionable bullpen decision, but they did what they had to do to get the series back to Toronto. After being down 0-2 I think most of us would have been very happy if we were told the Jays would force a game 6. If the Jays can't win 2/4 home games then they don't deserve to win the series anyways, bullpen be damned. This all said, 2 of Seattle's wins might've turned out totally differently if a couple different decisions were made. I really hope Schneider is able to learn from this before it's too late. Also, the Dogers are a f***ing buzzsaw right now; it's hard to think either AL team has much of a chance against them. Would still love the Jays to try cause this is baseball and anything can happen. Don't lose faith in this team until the final out. This has been a year of resiliency and will be a success no matter how it ends. See you all for game 6 (and 7!!)
  13. My point was that baseball is a funny game and sometimes things happen you dont expect. No need to be so negative until it's done and dusted.
  14. Agreed. Baseball is a crazy game and that's why we love/hate it. It's now the Jays turn to pick themselves up off the mat.
  15. So far this feels like 2016 where right off the bat it seemed like the team was just not destined to compete. Hoping they turn things around on the road.
  16. I'm most concerned that the FO or manager feels we have a better chance of winning with our average/volatile pen and would rather take a starter out after a set innings or times-through-the-order limit. You need to lean on your starters to have any success. Taking out any pitcher (i don't care of he's a rookie) after 70 pitches in what is essentially a must win game, while keeping the score close, is maddening.
  17. f*** this message board turns toxic with negativity - it's one tough game one and then a couple swings beating the Jays so far in game two. I don't like our chances going to Seattle down 2-0 but you just have to try to take 2/3 and hope the baseball gods come back to your side of things the longer this series goes. There's rarely been a winner who didn't overcome adversity. Hoping we get that big hit ala Ed Sprague, Roberto Alomar, etc. that turns things around positively for us.
  18. How many pitches was Yesavage at? Our bullpen seems below average in stranding Inherited runners but just might be recency bias talking.
  19. Ideally we can win 3 of the next 4, doing that allows us to get that final win at home. Going to be tough but I hope the bats wake up tomorrow and allow us to be competitive.
  20. I agree with you, but if you're going to stay in close games you need to lean on your best.
