The Blue Jays are still making up ground for being the bridesmaid of MLB free agency the last two years by adding Max Scherzer on a 1-year, $15 million deal. While Scherzer will turn 41 in July, does he still have enough gas left in the tank to stabilize a team falling out of contention, or will he be trade bait for another season at the deadline?

No to both. He pitched 43 innings last year. He will not be a starter this year or any year going forward. Can he be utilized in the bull pen as a three batter reliever. Perhaps. But at the end of the year he is 42. Show me a viable 42 year old pitcher in the majors. Huh. Didn't think so.
